TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have nine years of experience as a teacher. For many of those years, I have taught early childhood and lower elementary grades. One of my favorite grades to teach has been Kindergarten. Once I received my Master's in Reading Education, I bumped up to upper elementary. I’m currently working as a 4th Grade teacher and absolutely love it. I love creating new things for my classroom and sharing my knowledge and creativity with others.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style has a little bit of everything. It changes with the type of students and grade I'm teaching. One of my main goals is to provide students with hands on experiences to stimulate curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning, at any age or level.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Since the age of four years old, I knew I wanted to become a teacher when I spent many hours teaching my dolls. Upon my high school graduation, I entered Florida International University (FIU) and was given the opportunity to teach a group of Pre-K students at a nearby school. During my college years, I found out about the Montessori Method and took the training to learn more about it. After four years of studying, I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with ESOL endorsement while receiving my Montessori training from Summit Questa Montessori. I continued my studies at FIU for three more years and received a Master of Science in Reading Education. I decided once again to go back to school where I will be receiving a specialist degree in Curriculum Instruction.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

As a teacher, much of my inspiration comes from the many occurrences and learning that goes on my own classroom. Due to this, I have learned that the best curriculum is the one I carry in my head; knowledge. I truly believe that sharing and creating through TPT and various blogs have made my teaching skyrocket!
