Yes, I am going to finish Unit 3, Lesson 15 tonight and bundle all the lessons in Unit 3. I will begin Unit 4 tomorrow. It takes me about 2-3 days to get through each Unit. My goal is to have all the units done by the end of the month. I plan to spend July printing, laminating and cutting them out.

They won't read the rhymes. If I am lucky they might memorize some of them. It is more for the parents so they might read it to their child when the book goes home (in case they are unfamiliar with the nursery rhyme). When I teach the rhyme we are focusing on the rhyming words which is a verbal/auditory (spoken) skill. At least that is how it is presented in the Journeys reading series. When they are at word work I see they have a few choices for them to rotate through each day-they have a word bank-can you tell me more about this? It looks like they use this word bank for all the activites at this area for the week, right? So they use the stampers, play doh etc. to make these words.
I also see at the reading center they have letter detective-can you tell me more about this?

Our main measuring skill is comparing the length of two different items, so it'd be really nice to have an answer sheet for that to go with your current measuring cards (color the picture the color of the one that's longer or shorter). I know I am supposed to post a question here, but I just really wanted to take a minute to thank you. I happened upon your products while browsing TPT. Your Reading Streets units have been such a blessing to me. This is my seventh year teaching, but I am new to kindergarten this year. I am also a new mom, with a husband who works at night. Oh wow-what compliments! I started making these units for me and my mom (she teaches K right beside me) and she suggested that they were "good enough to sell" so I thought if I sold a few then that would pay for the clipart (and then I could purchase "cute" clipart). I have several teachers that have bought them all - every week! I have 11 year old triplets and having these units written and ready to go has saved us from having to spend a lot of time after school. I am able to plan for 2 weeks at a time and I don't have to search for materials because they are all in the units. I am so glad that you are happy with them. I am worried about Units 5 and 6, but I think I have got some great themes in mind! Have a great week!

This unit really goes along with the literature story Bear Snores On. Any activities that are used with informational texts are about brown bears. Those would be KWL charts and tree maps. The centers have graphics of the animals in the Bear Snores On story.

I just bought the goldilocks math unit and the bears standing on the block with a number is missing the 3 and the 6. Went to do the activity with my kids and didn't have those two numbers. I have looked through the packet again and can't find those 2 numbers. There are 2 8's though. If you could please correct this as soon as possible so I can use this activity that would be great. Otherwise I would like a refund. I teach special education preschool and this is one of the main activities I would be able to use in my classroom. Thanks.

Sorry, one more question...same bunny lesson...on the "story map" which other bubbles are there to use? Or is it the rectangles that say "things the bunnies did in bunny day" and "things real bunnies can do"? Rectangles are fine, just wanted to check.

The bubble map on page 6 would be used for drawing pictures/labeling events in the story (things the bunnies did during the day). You can do this whole group (we do-on the document camera) or for the students to do independently (you do). The writing paper could be used instead of the bubble map, after the class bubble map or as differentiation for students who can write sentences, or as a follow-up to the bubble map (writing process). I try to think of how I would organize the lesson and then how to differentiate the lesson, or space the same concept over a few days (bubble map one day, writing sheet the next). Does this make sense? I can re-make anything if I need to. I have not taught this unit yet, so if it is still confusing let me know. Sorry this got so long....Jen

Hi there! I will start including the letters and pictures I use in the product description. When I write these units I use the reading street pacing and some weeks the letters are the same, so that is why the spinners are the same. I have new clip art and it will be different every week, but some weeks will have the same pictures because there are only so many CVC pictures I can find. Thank you so much!

Yes, I have included the standards for most of the activities. I also have many activities for informational text and on some of those activities I did not have a standard listed because it would depend on the informational text you decide to use (about bears).

You are too funny! Yes, I make them every weekend. I am working on Hide Clyde this weekend. I am a little worried about some of the Unit 5 stories, but I hope to make them work. I started making these units for myself, I am surprised and honored that so many teachers are using them. I hope to get a lot of the next unit stories done during our Christmas Break. Thanks for the compliments, it is very motivating!

I was going through the oviparous animals literacy pack and pg. 155 to document color words still says bibs instead of butterflies (from the growing & changing week). Just fyi, I know my kids won't know the difference. : ) I appreciate you sharing all these, they're great.
