If you think standardized tests are a terrible way to measure student achievement, I agree.... We should know where they started, what they need and take them as far as we can... Ever had to sit through a terrible professional development that was boring, useless and about something you'll never need to know and will never use? If so, don't teach your students like they "taught" you. After twelve years of therapy, my psychologist said something that brought tears to my eyes.
