The verbs in the book are difficult. The tier 2 words chosen are hard for the lower readers. Even though they are chosen as tier 2 they are still difficult for my lower readers to understand and grasp.

Hi. The school where I taught this exercise did not use tier classification, but I did make another worksheet for Chapter 20. I just uploaded the new worksheet - an extra 25 sentences, and did not raise the price (for future buyers). I hope this helps, because as you said, this book does have difficult verbs. Her language is wonderful, and I hope this gets all students excited about finding her dynamic verbs. Thanks so much for the honest feedback!!

I think some of it is better suited for lower grades, but it is a good, organized packet for most students. They will not struggle too much with it in the higher grades.

I am doing a Holocaust module with Wiesel's Night and Gerda Weissmann Klein's All But My Life, and this speech/internet activity was a brilliant start. The accompanying work sheets and vocabulary exercise were exactly what I needed. The students were impressed with the speech and we are finding many connections as we read Night.

These are simply comprehension questions - no analysis. I most often use them to open discussion after reading a chapter; I will have students answer these questions and then go over the quiz together. When I write my lesson plans, I use this as my tie to the CC: By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, at the high end of grades 6–8 text complexity band independently and proficiently.

Yes - if the product says chapter 2, then the sentences are from chapter 2. I am almost done with part 2 of the grammar unit - I only have chapter 18 to revise. (I change/ add after I teach it to make sure all the "kinks" are worked out). It will be up shortly. Please let me know if this clarifies everything! Thanks so much.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught at the high school level for almost eight years, instructed ACT courses, and written lesson plans and units for Book Rags. I taught for a year at an alternative school, grades 6-12. I also have written in the educational channel at Bright Hub and for the educational section at Everything Mom.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I am very systematic. Organization and structure are key for a safe and productive learning environment. When students understand expectations, they are willing to strive to meet them. With my teaching materials, I have clear instructions and diverse activities. Students learn best if their teachers provide them with a variety of learning methods. Creating so many activities is time consuming, especially in a world where time is so short. I am so happy to provide and buy lesson plans, worksheets, and testing materials.
