Thank you Lindsey for a great resource! However, Miss Stretchberry is spelled incorrectly.
There is a second "t" in it. Other than that minor error I absolutely love it!
Thanks. Julie

Hi there! Great question! I teach 4th grade and I know that they would love to use websites, books, etc. to find the answers to the graphic organizers on their own! I've included an answer key, just in case thy get stuck :)

Hope this helps!

Hi, Makenzie!

Great question. The resources are really flexible for the entire book. For instance, I might assign a character trait graphic organizer to a guided reading group for chapter 3. I do not, however, have this posted on the product yet. It is really for you to decide. The comprehension questions are big-picture, big-idea. They really go best towards the end of the study.

Hope this helps! Have fun with this AWESOME book!

Hi Lindsey, Your Chris Van Allsburg Author Study is awesome! I can't wait to start this unit with my students! I was wondering about the spelling of "Jumanji." It is spelled with a "j" in the book, but a "g," in your resources ("Jumangi"). I'm not sure if the kids will be confused by this change.
Thanks!

Does your packet have instructions and or a pacing guide that goes along with the graphic organizers?

Are there any comprehension questions or assessments?

Learning with Lindsey  (TpT Seller)
Great question! This packet does not include a pacing guide, but that would be a great idea. I use these resources in a very flexible way. Usually, each of these graphic organizers would be a different mini-lesson for each day. Or, you could assign a small group 1-2 graphic organizers for a sitting, depending on their level.

There are a few comprehension questions, but are not organized by chapter. This is because the questions are broader-scope and more big picture. There are no assessments.

Hope this helps!!

Hello Lindsey,

I was thinking about buying this packet for Tiger Rising. However, I was wondering if the packet is set up chapter to chapter or if it is just completed after the students finish the entire book. I really want to use this as a whole class during our read aloud and merge some mini lessons into our read aloud when I can. Thanks so much, Tamara

Hi, Tamara!

The Tiger Rising is an awesome Read Aloud book! Great choice! I do not have the questions organized by chapter since they are deeper level, big picture questions. The graphic organizers are great to use chapter by chapter or after the entire book. I've left this product flexible for differentiation, which has completely helped me in my classroom. Thank you for your question!

Hi! I just downloaded "Stuart Little" and it looks to be a FABULOUS resource! Thank you! I have a question though... on pg 28 it says "Lesson/Theme of Holes", but this is Stuart Little... Can you change it? I understand this template is probably used for lots of other novels. I appreciate it if you can. If so, how will I re-download it? (You're my 1st download from TPT). Thanks.

Hi, there!

These are supplemental graphic organizers with some whole-book questions that focus on the bigger picture. For this reason, there is no suggested time or lessons. You will find that the graphic organizers can be used one a day, or a few a day. It really depends on the grade level and students' ability levels.

I hope this helps! Have a great one!

Hi! Are the worksheets you've created designed to be used in a generic fashion, at any point in the book (the way a literature circle job would be completed), or are they more chapter specific with questions/comparisons that relate to specific events in the story?

Hi there!

Thank you for feedback. I typically use these graphic organizers as an open-ended way to check for comprehension in a book club or small group setting. I know that many teachers have also used it as a resource to keep track of thinking in a large group setting during a read aloud. We use Reading Workshop and it follows the thinking strategies that we work on.

I hope this helps!

Hi,
Quick questions:
-What does the red, yellow and green sections for?
- Is there a way to get a blank set of activities or to edit the existing ones? I want to use it for Tacky the Penguin. I teach second grade. I am unable to use Polar Express in my district, so I wanted to substitute something else. Thanks!

Hi! Thank you for your feedback!
I use the red, yellow, and green graphic organizers to help students with determining importance of events in text. What are the most important things that happen in the story? What are just the interesting details?

I would be happy to discuss what we can do to edit the existing graphic organizers. Please message me back with your email and we can figure it out!

Have a wonderful last few weeks!

Hi there-just downloaded this set of resources and love it! One of my classes has a big ELL population, and I like to modify some of the language in my materials for that class. Your materials are gorgeous and I wouldn't want to change them otherwise, but are you able to offer a Word document or something else that I can edit for my ELL students? Thank you for any help you can offer!

Thanks for your positive feedback! It is appreciated.

Great question! There are two types of activities-- first, students solve a basic word problem. Second, the students write their own word problem based on an expression. So, it's not exactly matching word problems with expressions, but using some of those same ideas. I hope this helps and good luck on your observation lesson!
