This is nice morning work, but I think it would have been better if the font on the entire paper had been larger and clearer. The matching columns were very difficult to read.

At the beginning of the year, I did the song found on the Zoo Phonics CD while I clicked through the PowerPoint. It is number two - I think it's called, "It Sounds Like This." (I have moved schools and grades, so I no longer have the CD.) We did this for the first two weeks. However, tor most of the year we would go through the powerpoint on the smartboard and just say the letter name, sound, and animal name while doing the movement. As the year progressed, I let one student each day use the pen to click through the PowerPoint. It really helped my kids learn their letter names and sounds FAST.

This is my third year of teaching. I taught second grade for the first two years, and I am now teaching kindergarten. I loved second grade, but I am really enjoying kindergarten as well! It is so different, but they all need love!
