I am a 36 year veteran teacher. Teaching at Swift Creek Middle has been a part of my life for 23 years; sixth, seventh and eighth graders. My earlier teaching experience was with first graders. For the past ten years I have participated in curriculum writing and new teacher mentoring in Chesterfield County Public Schools. I am certified in both areas.
Hands on Science has always been my focus. Teaching students daily how to become independent, lifelong learners is our task as educators. It excites and encourages me when my students run to get to class. Tardies are never an issue.
In 2006 I was awarded Teacher of the Year for Swift Creek Middle.
Bachelor of Arts in Education from Morehead State Univerity, 1974 Master of Education from Univerity of Louisville, 1984
I am presently serving on the Chesterfield County's Recycling Advisory Committee.
