Hi There. It depends upon the lesson. I've set my program up on a Monday to Friday schedule. The students in Early Alphabetic do a picture sort on Monday to introduce the weekly feature; Tuesday-Thursday are games/activities, such as Concentration, picture hunts, letter tile activities (Build, Blend and Extend), Match (played like "War"), Bingo, etc. to practice their feature of the week (the specific games change from week to week); and Friday is test day.

Hi Gina. I'm assuming you are speaking about "Divergent". I developed this novel with my grade 9's in mind. I teach "regular" grade nine and "low enrollment/special education" grade nine. With my low-enrollment, struggling readers, I did this novel as a read-aloud in class (we read everyday). It would have been too hard for some of them to read independently. This took longer, but it was important for them to be able to relax and hear the story, and then we would discuss the plot, characters, setting, etc. together. I also used the "guided reading" portion with them. It helped them with language skills and with imagery. Some of the activities in the unit were done as a class and some were done independently (for marks). Doing this novel as a read-aloud in class will take you about 4-6 weeks, depending upon how much you chunk.
With my "regular" grade nine's, as there were still struggling readers in this class, I mixed home reading with class reading. I would assign 2-3 chapters over the weekend (about 20 pages) and then we would read the next few chapters in class.

Hi There. I've included a mid-novel test on the first 20 chapters, but opted to go with projects rather than a final test. The test includes matching questions for factions, characters, and vocabulary, plot sequencing, and short answer questions. I've also included an answer key for the mid-novel test. The "single" versions contain lesson plans for only early, middle or late. Whether you're interested in the "complete" or "single" version, I've included a list of the lessons included in the download with the preview. As of this year, I have 14 Years of Classroom Experience - 7 years as an Educational Assistant and 7 years as a classroom teacher. As an Educational Assistant, I gained experience working in almost all grades K-12. As a teacher, I started my career in grade 7 and 8 English Language Arts, Mathematics and Social Studies. Three years ago, I made the switch to high school. I am currently teaching English, History and Global Issues.
