Thank you for inquiring about this product! My Valentine's Day Centers are for grades 3-6 so they would most likely be too difficult for 1st grade. To find the grade level recommended for each product, scroll underneath the description and there is a grey box that gives subject area, grade level, number of pages, and so forth. It's a great way of checking to see if the product will work for your students! Thanks again for checking first.

Thank you for your question! You cannot use just any image from anywhere for your artwork in your TPT products. I select my image by finding copyright free images on sites which clearly explain the copyright. Even if a painting is copyright free on one site does not mean it is copyright free on another. I have purchased your 50 Fast Finishers pack, and today I downloaded your Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day packs. I am so excited to use them! I was so excited, in fact, that I wrote a blog post on your wonderful Fast Finishers packs. I always post about things that I am thinking about or excited about at the time, so this is just what was on my mind!
I do want to make sure, however, that you are okay with the way I described them, and that there are no issues with me including thumbnails of the front covers. I really wanted to include thumbnails of a few pages because they explain the product so well (the ones you included in your previews or as thumbnails) but I was afraid that someone could find a way to print them and use them without downloading your products, so I included only the cover pages. Please feel free to tell me if there is anything that you would like me to add, delete, change, etc!

This sounds like a fun, interactive to teach money. I just have 1 question. My 3rd grade students need lots of practice subtracting money. Our learning obj states making change from $5.00 and subtracting across zeros. Would this game give them practice in this area? Or is it mostly adding coins and small bills?

Thank you for taking the time to ask a question about my game! My game does not focus on subtraction of money, it only focuses on the addition of money. Students must count and add together the bills and coins on each card and based on the total amount of the money, perform different tasks. I do not have a money game that focuses on a subtractive objective at the moment, but if I come out with one I will let you know!

I've just used the Island Survival Money Counting game with my 2nd graders. They were big fans! We found a couple things that should be fixed on the Island Adding sheet that I wanted to let you know about.
1) The last item that says "$5.01 + - Put a survival item from your island back into the pile" should be changed to $7.51 +, because there is already a direction that states "$5.00-$7.50 - Do nothing."
2) Also, perhaps the $5.00 in "$5.00 - $7.50 - Do nothing" should be changed to $5.01, because there is already a $5.00 in the "$2.01 - $5.00 - Add two survival items from the pile to your island."
Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks again for a great activity. :)

I have done this lesson with high school students who enjoy taking time on their work. I think if you gave the students a strict deadline that would help them finish it sooner or if you work with younger students they tend to spend less time on their artwork. I also gave the students about an hour to sketch and brainstorm ideas. This could easily be reduced as well to save time.
Also, I used paper marbling instead of markers and so we had to allow time for the artwork to dry before we could continue. By using markers you would not have to wait for the paper to dry and this would help it move quicker as well. I always emphasize lots of detail while students draw, but requiring less detail would also help the students finish the assignment earlier. I think by following these steps and giving students a strict deadline will help them finish in time.
