cveks re: Camp Read S'More Reading Program and Grant
Hi, I love your idea. I have a question about the badge tasks. Could you give me one or two examples of what those are? I am trying to determine if this would be something I would use for my struggling readers in grades 4-5-6. Thanks.

Librarian for Young Readers (TpT Seller)
Let's see...some of the badge tasks.
* Read a book on a country and they reproduced the flag.
* Read and report on a sports book. Tell me what are the rule of the game and what equipment you need to play it.
* We read a book on basketball then our gym teacher played a game with them.
* They have read and reported on Caldecott award winning books and a Volunteer State Book Award winner or nominee.
* We have done a Egypt activities station.
* We had a national park ranger come and do a native animal presentation.
* We have done an animal tracks activity where they match the footprint to the animal.
* We've done a flat stanley doll and sent them off to different states.
* We had a book discussion group as a small group.
I have a total of 10 badges with 4 tasks under each, for a total of 40. They have to get 7 of the badges so I think this offers the kids first and foremost a choice on what they want to do and secondly a variety of activities that will suit their personalities.

I have won 3 Foundation Grants and 8 BEP (Business Education Partnership) Grants. Winnings total about $7500. In 2012 I was named the MEA Distinguished Educator and I won the TASL Innovative Library Media Award. What a great year for me professionally!

I have two young boys under the age of 5 so I am constantly looking for books that are great for boys. I want to foster of love of reading with them, not to mention the kids at my school!
