I can only make it editable if I remove all the graphics. The terms of use from the graphic artists don't allow me to share their work in editable form. Do you want a text only version of the game? Let me know.

Kathy Cool (from Staying Cool in the Library) and I have been putting together a TpT Stores catalog of librarian stores, and I was wondering if you would be interested in being included in it. If you are, there's more information at this forum topic. Each seller can create a page or two like sellers did in the back-to-school ebooks. I'm putting together the first edition now, but I'm planning to do revisions whenever new librarian sellers want to be included. If that's not your cup of tea, then I apologize for bothering you. I don't want to seem spammy...just trying to spread the word to librarians who haven't discovered our stores yet. Happy holidays!

Hi. I purchased your Non-Fiction Library Scavenger Hunt and wanted to use the provided template to create additional playing cards, but cannot type or add graphics to the template. Should I be able to do this, or is it intended to print the template, then cut out my own images and font, glue down and copy?

I had imagined you would just use a permanent marker to create the extra cards, but you could also cut and paste. If you'd like me to send you that blank template page as a Power Point slide, send your email address to me at librarycenters at gmail dot com, and you can edit it in Power Point!

I have been looking through your blog and TPT store. I like the genre and author games and was wondering if you have (or could create) something similar using nonfiction categories for upper grade students. I am working on the Dewey system with 4th and 5th grade right now and thought a game such as this that got them reading a variety of nonfiction books (other than the same ones they tend to gravitate to) would be great. Thanks!

Michelle Simpson  (TpT Seller) re: Non-Fiction Library Scavenger Hunt Cards
One thing I noticed is that even though it says there are 24 cards, there are some repeats. For example, jokes, drawing, & crafts are all on there twice. I think that makes there only be 21 cards. I am not sure if that is accidental, but you might want to fix it or change the description. I love the set, but if there are actually 3 other cards, I would love to get them! Thanks!

Hi Michelle! These are the cards I use for a class of 24 students. I have extra copies of the subjects that are popular (like jokes) and no copies of subjects that young students rarely look for (like government). You may choose to use the blank cards for other subjects that happen to be popular with your students.
I will take a look at revising the description. Thanks for your comments!

Buyer re: One Fish Two Fish Estimation Center
I am new to TpT, and I'm wondering about putting clipart on products that I want to sell. For example, on your "Fish Estimation Center" activity, did you use free clipart from a free clipart site, or did you personally create the fish and bee at the computer? I realize that this product was a free download, but if it had been for sale, would you be allowed to attach free clipart without citing its source and charge for your product? I am NOT very artistic, so I'm hoping to use free clipart on my products, but I don't want to break any copyright laws in doing so. Please advise me.

Mrs. D,
I used clip art from Graphics Factory on the "Fish Estimation Center." Graphics Factory costs $50 per year for unlimited graphics from their library. I link to them on the "credits" page (the last page of the product). Whenever you purchase or download clip art, the artist typically has "terms of use," either on the web page or as part of the download. Those terms tell you how you can use the art and how you must give credit. So, basically, there is not a blanket rule to cover all the clip art. You need to read the "terms of use" carefully every time!
I hope that helps you!

Cari,
I purchased your summer reading challenge K-5 download, and I LOVE it! I would, however, like to make some modifications to meet the needs of my school and students. Do you mind if I post a modified version on my blog for students to download in case they lose theirs over the summer? I'll be sure to give full credit online and on the actual PDF as well.

Krystel, thank you for asking! I would prefer that you put a notice like this on your blog with the reading challenge: "This summer reading challenge was purchased for download and use by students at _______ Elementary School. If you are a teacher or librarian at a different school, please respect the efforts of the fellow educator who created this and purchase your own copy at http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Summer-Reading-Challenge-K-5-with-book-lists." That way, just in case someone from the general public (not your school) stumbles onto your blog, they (hopefully) won't download it without paying for it. If you would like for me to send you a plain Power Point version of the challenge without the clip art (since I can only share that in a pdf), send me an email at library centers at gmail.com. That would be easier for you to edit.

Great!
The reason I couldn't find the book Al Pha's Bet was that there isn't a space on the bingo sheet. I would fix these things myself but the sheets are locked.
April 26, 2013 Report inappropriate comment
Library Centers
Library Centers  (TpT Seller)
Magbri, the reason the sheets are locked is because the clip art designers require it. They don't want anyone to be able to cut or copy the images without paying the artist for it. I'm not trying to make it difficult for you, just complying with their terms of use. I am working on correcting the title of Al Pha's Bet. You will get an email when it's complete. I'm not able to add a blank line before the parent signature. Although it looks like it would fit, it forces the words onto another page.
Cari
p.s.-I've revised the first to second grade version to add the space in Al Pha's Bet. I don't think it sent an automatic email, but you should be able to download the corrected version now!

Hi! Who is the author for Alpha's Bet? Also, I wanted to put more space between the list and the parents' signature but I can't. Can you help me, please? I bought K-4 and it's the same on all of them. Thank you!

The author for Alpha's Bet is Amy Krouse Rosenthal. I am at my state library conference, and don't have my laptop with me. I will take a look at the files and see if there is space to add more room between list and signature when I return home on Sunday.

I'm an elementary school librarian and author of The Centered School Library. I blog about library centers at librarylearners.com. Everything that I sell in my TPT store has been tested and refined in my elementary school library with preK through fifth grade students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use learning centers (work stations) in my school library. I love the hum of purposeful activity as my students are moving, talking and learning! My library is RARELY quiet! My students are engaged and joyful!
