Hello! I have purchased your human body lapbook but it is very small. How can I make the foldables bigger so that it is easier to use with small 2nd grade hands? Thank you for your help!

elabbiento re: About Lap-books
Hello! I had never seen lapbooks before and I love this idea! I saw your example of a life science and physical science lapbook. I currently teach both of these areas. Would you consider offering these two lapbooks for sale? I would love to purchase them! Thank you!

I bought this from you, and I plan on using the vocabulary section. Is there anyway that you could make the columns have multiple lines. There is not enough room for my students to write. If you could double space that section, that would be great.
Thanks

I am using the worksheet for my student teaching and my prof will hammer me if I use it as is.

The font you used on the front cover (also in the foldables) has letters that appear as boxes. No "r" "l" "h" "m" "s" and more. We can't read those pages.

I used the paste-able pages instead of a lapbook with my students. Did you download my freebie "About lap-booking"? It has some pictures and how to set up lap-books. Basically when you do a lapbook there is no set order and you just glue the mini-books into the lapbook however you want. Please email me at jessilcaldwell at live.com if you need extra help.

Is there an answer key for the "Reading Questions and Journal" section? I bought this pack last week, and I cannot find answers for the short answer questions (for each chapter).

Thanks

No, there is not a key for those questions. The journal would be student opinion/critical thinking. Hope this helps.

You provide the information that goes inside the foldables. I always allow my students to go through notes we have taken in class or their science book to find information. It gives them a chance to voice things in their own words/opinion.

Thanks for the response. I'm guessing they can't see the score card? I think thats where I was confused... I thought that that was the handout they got. Becuase if they could see it, then there wouldn't be much to persuade. They would all say pick Coke this round or whatnot.
I think I'm getting it. I probably just have to look at it more. Thanks for the explanation.

7th SPED teacher  (TpT Seller) re: Which Soda? - Inference and Critical Thinking Lesson and Game
Hi, I just bought your coke/sprite game, and I'm going to be honest... I don't get it. I'm clearly missing the obvious point, so I was hoping you can explain it to me. I understand how predicting ties in, but I don't really understand how they're making inferences. And I assume the rules don't allow the kids to strategize with each other what they're planning to choose, so is it basically just a game of chance? I'm sorry, I'm sure there's more too it than what I'm seeing right off the bat, but I'm clearly missing it. I'd appreciate any further directions you can offer. Thanks!

The inference comes in because the students are trying to guess what their opponents will do. They are thus trying to infer and guess what their group members will do. They can then try to persuade and make new inferences as the game goes on. I allow my students to stratagize and try to persuade other members that is where the persuasion, inferring and so on comes out. If the students are just playing the game with no talking or strategizing the inferring would not happen. The fun of using the game is that the students are actively engages and are trying to infer things just like when they read. I know that at first it does seem like a game of chance and it will for the students until they play through the first few rounds. The fun part starts after they understand how the game is played. I hope this clarifys things a little. Please email (jessilcaldwell at live.com) me if you have any other concerns and I will try to help.

SourCherry re: In A Pickle
Hello! Regarding "In a Pickle," what 3 tests should the students most likely (and most safely and scientifically) use to determine which jar has the brine?

I love that this lab offers a food suitable for all my vegetarians. Thanks!

Heat should cause the water to evaporate or separate leaving salt. You could use food coloring to see if one changes color easier. Simply mixing the solutions. Observing them with a magnifying glass. The one that I would not allow my students to do was taste the solutions. Allowing the students to brainstorm ways to test the solutions should help you come up with even more ways. Of course some tests need more teacher supervision than others.

I am considering purchasing your "Around the World in 80 Pages" Unit for a 10-day summer course in World Literature for a group of high school students. Could you please tell me what 10 short stories you use (for the quizzes) before I purchase this unit? I want to know if they are consistent with some of the literature I would like my kids to explore. Thank you! - Erin Atchley

It is in a zip file. If you have windows seven you should be able to open the folder and select "extract all." If that does not work you can download winzip. It is a program that helps retrieve zip files. Hope that works! Let me know if you have any other issues.

Comment not question - great idea about the dots to color code levels. I showed this to our academic coach. She loved it since we get copies of the local paper 4X/wk. She suggested I forward a copy to our English teachers. Thanks so much - you have impacted about 400 students with this idea!

I saw your posting on the Sellers Forum page of Teachers Pay Teachers; so, I thought I would look at your freebie. I have a few suggestions that might help you to better market your products. First, create a cover page which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers. Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product. Make sure this is all ONE document instead of having the buyer being required to open separate ones. I found opening several different documents discouraging. Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also, always save each item in a PDF format. Do not offer a word document unless it is a test that you want the buyer to be able to modify. I hope these suggestions help as you modify your store.

If you have time, I’d appreciate your input on my freebie listed below.
