Kindergarten by Design (TpT Seller)
Hi! I am a Kindergarten teacher here in Texas. I have a question for you. Does your school use CSCOPE for curriculum? If so, how long? Our district just rolled it out for us to begin using it. I love it, but many of my colleagues are overwhelmed and do not like it at all. Did anyone on your faculty have the same problems? Can you tell me how your school overcame the issues? Of course these questions are assuming you do use it. I really appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi, Angela! Yes, we use it. (I'm in Victoria, btw.) By itself, we've come to accept CScope, although there are several issues that we have a problem with. :) For one thing, we're required to have our students reading on first grade level by the end of the year, yet the TEKS say they only have to be blending. Essentially, we're teaching first grade on the Kinder level, and the pressure is tremendous to have them performing way and above what they're just not mentally ready for. When 7 of my students turned 5 in Aug., and 3 turned 6 in Sept., that year makes a world of difference! :D

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
With over 30 years in education, I currently teach Kindergarten in a school in south Texas. I have a BM and MM in vocal music education, as well as a Early Childhood certification. I taught elementary music for 25 years before moving to the classroom in 2001.
