Overall I am very happy with this purchase, however I wish there were more than 25 spaces on on page for student names. The majority of my classes have 30 kids.

July 21, 2014

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

I was unable to get more than 25 on a page without making the spaces too small. In the description I indicate that there are only 25 spaces on the Class List, or there is a version with 20 spaces per page, with 2 pages to allow for up to 40 students. I am glad you are happy with the rest of the product!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Kim C. re: Back To School Resources for Middle School Math

Hi - I purchased this last year and I'm planning on using it again this year; however, I am changing grade levels/subjects and I was wondering if I could get an editable file. I just want to edit a couple of questions on the student survey to fit my students. Thank you in advance if that's possible! :)

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

Due to copyright restrictions with the font, digital paper and clipart, I cannot offer this in an editable version. Sorry!

OCBeachTeacher (TpT Seller)

Hi Lindsay, I saw a post about a possible Maryland meet-up and wondered if anything had been planned. I would love to be included if possible. Maybe people could meet in Annapolis (kind of central)? I can be reached at ocbeachteacher@gmail.com. Thanks!

Donna W. re: Middle School Math Stations Bundle

Forgot to check email me when you respond re color and design

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

The hard copy is in black and white to make it more economical to order a large number of them.

Donna W. re: Middle School Math Stations Bundle

Are they in color with design borders as it would probably be worth the extra $ for the hard copy if so.

B B (TpT Seller) re: 6th Grade Math Common Core Complete Resource Bundle

B B (TpT Seller) re: 6th Grade Math Common Core Vocabulary Cards

This is great! Do you include profit and income?

Buyer

I bought your 7th and 8th Grade Common Core Math Bundles and LOVE them! I can't wait to use them in my classroom this year. Do you have a pacing guide that goes along with them?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

I don't have a pacing guide right now, since every district is different. I'm slowly working on a new set of CCSS resources and I hope to include a pacing guide with them. It'll be a few months until I get that finished though! I'm glad you love the bundles!

SubSavvy (TpT Seller)

Hi Lindsay! I attended your session in Vegas (it was wonderful!!) but the bit.ly link you provided isn't working for me. I might have copied it down incorrectly? Another teacher that attended your session was having the same issue. It takes us to a weird website. Could you possibly message me the correct link? sbowden88@yahoo.com

Dimitra (TpT Seller) re: Middle School Math Stations Bundle

Hi! Love your work! Are these math stations aligned with the Illinois Common Core State Standards?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

I'm not familiar with the CCSS for Illinois. These stations are not specifically aligned to any CCSS standards since I want them to be applicable to MS Math classrooms regardless of the curriculum.

Mademoiselle N (TpT Seller) re: Christmas Holiday Logic Puzzle

Hi Mrs Perro,

I really love this kind of activity, but I'm teaching in a French school. I would like to know if I could traduce and adapt your work for French user's school and sell them on a French Website or on TPT in writing your name as author of original idea? I could make a link to your shop on TpT if you want. I will wait your answer.

Best regards,

Nadine Boyer

I wouldn't have a problem if you wanted to adapt my work for use in your own classroom, but I would prefer they not be sold.

Hi Lindsay,

I run a small online school for secondary school students, and now that we're growing, I'm seeking experienced teachers to help with online teaching part-time. Is there some way I could contact you directly? My email is lily@fortuigence.com, and my school is Fortuigence (fortuity + intelligence). Our main website is at http://www.Fortuigence.com.

Thanks very much,

Crystal Mencia (TpT Seller) re: Middle School Math Foldable Notes

Do these have the ability to be modified by the buyer? I would like to use my verbage and lingo with my students.

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

They cannot be modified but they are not completely filled out (the can be but you can also pick how complete you want them to be). If you come across a specific foldable that you'd like me to tweak a little, I could do that for you.

Ashley O. re: Middle School Math Foldable Notes

These look great but a lot of them look like the scholars will have to cut the foldable itself and then cut and paste labels onto it, is that the case? I need to make sure the foldables aren't too time consuming. Thanks!

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

The foldables are offered in many different formats, from completely blank to completely filled in. The blank ones can be filled in by hand, like traditional notes. The cutting and pasting is optional.

And yes, they would have to cut them out, but if you (or a classroom volunteer) have access to a large paper cutter, you could cut many at once.

McKenna Clark (TpT Seller) re: 8th Grade Math Mega Bundle of Resources {Common Core Edition}

I am seriously interested in purchasing this mega bundle. Is there any way that I can see a sample of the posters? I've heard nothing but amazing feedback from your purchasers. This will be the most expensive item I've purchased from TpT, and I'm ABSOLUTELY willing to do so. I just want to make sure I like the look and colors of everything you have created, and that when I start purchasing the rest of the items to hang on my walls that they match with your bundle. Is that a possibility?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

There are actually two different styles of posters.

Included are the posters here - http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/8th-Grade-Math-Common-Core-Standards-Posters-145384

and the ones in these packets - http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/8th-Grade-Common-Core-Number-System-Review-Booklet-733651

Buyer re: Beyond the Worksheet Again - More Middle School Math Activities

Are these materials included in the 7th grade mega bundle?

Maura Heffernan (TpT Seller)

Hi, when you make these packets do you create on words and just add clip art you have purchased?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

Hi Maura,

So sorry your question slipped by me. I use PowerPoint to create all of my products and I have purchased all of the digital paper, clipart and font used.

iheartmath (TpT Seller) re: Beyond The Worksheet - Middle School Math Activities

Is this included in the 8th Grade Mega Math Bundle?

Buyer re: 8th Grade Math Mega Bundle of Resources {Common Core Edition}

I looked at the previews for the Mega Bundle common core and I do not see the over lap with the Algebra bundle. Is it mostly the same then? How much overlap is there? I really don't see the overlap when I look at the list on both. Thank you.

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

These resources overlap:

Graphing Linear Equations Unit Plan

Writing and Solving Equations and Expressions Unit Plan

Systems of Equations Unit Plan

Polynomials and Factoring Unit Plan

Algebra Assessments Bundle

Buyer re: 8th Grade Math Common Core Benchmark Exam

When purchased, is a Word document available for download so that I can tweak it a little for my classroom use?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

I cannot offer an editable version due to licensing restrictions with the font and digital paper I used in the resource. Sorry!

Patricia M. re: The Coffee Shop {Middle School Math Project}

I see there are only 3 recipes for the donuts. I'm confused as to how the students are to each come up with 2 new recipes..is it possible some recipes are missing. I am using the cupcake project in 6th grade..seems like something is missing.

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

The students create two recipes and use one of the three existing ones, leaving each student with three to work with (if they are working in groups of three). I made this one a little different from the cupcake project because I wanted one to not have as many ingredients to work with.

Johanna S. re: Scientific Notation Activity

In the scientific notation pieces, the negative sign did not print out, or wasn't there. So that was a typo. also if you could make them one big brick to cut instead of separate little boxes, it would make it easier to cut out. thank you.

Buyer re: 6th Grade Math Common Core Mini Review

Hi Lindsey, I love your products. Let me start out by saying I am not a math teacher but I am trying to break my fear of 6th grade math. Can you check the answers for Day 1 #4 and Day 3 #2

Thanks

Thanks

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

Day 1 #4 is correct because Emma made $40 and Gavin made $60, for a total of $100. There was an error on Day 3 #2, which I've fixed! Thank you!

Buyer re: 8th Grade Math Mega Bundle of Resources {Common Core Edition}

I can not read what this bundle includes on this page. Could I get a list of these please? Does this include things that are in the Algebra bundle too?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

If you click the green "PREVIEW" button, you will be able to see and download a list of everything that is included. And yes, there is overlap with the Algebra Bundle.

Paige Macadaeg (TpT Seller) re: The Cupcake Shop {Middle School Math Project}

How many days do you break this project into?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

It really depends on the length of your class and the level of your students. It also depends on how much you assign in class and how much (if any) is done at home. I would say anywhere from 2-5 days.

Pam W. re: Probability Unit Plan

On probability warmup question number 3, I keep getting a different answer for the third question about spinning a multiple of 6 and then an 8. Would you mind telling me how you got the answer of 37.5%? Thank you.

Kimberly B.

Hey Lindsay,

Any chance you have a rubric available for the cupcake shop project? I'm finishing up the project with all four of my 7th grade math classes they loved it, just figured I'd ask before I made my own.

Thanks!

Hi - I am trying to use this in 6 day enrichment class?? Is it possible to have the students complete this in 6 days??

Thank you!

Thank you!

Julie B.

Hi Lindsay,

I have been looking for a chart that shows all 8th grade math Common Core standards and allows students to record assessment results (maybe pre/post-test, individual indicator mini assessment, box for a re-teaching assignment, etc.?) and then ultimately a way to indicate (through coloring or something?) mastery of each indicator. I want students to have more responsibility for tracking their progress. Have you created anything like this that is available for purchase?

Hi Lindsay!

I have loved your Review Booklets for 6th grade this year. I would love to send home something similar with my students at the end of the year so that they can review their skills over the break. Do you have something like this (that would review the 6th grade standards)? I thought I would check before I started creating!

Thanks so much!

I purchased The Coffee Shop project. I am confused about the donut recipes. I have three in the packet. Do the students come up with 3 more recipes for donuts on their own or do they just use the three that are provided?

Thanks,

Terri Seeley

Thanks,

Terri Seeley

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

They use the three there and then create three more. Since they should be in groups of 3, each child can work with their own recipes and one of those provided.

Lisa H.

Hi! I purchased the sixth grade mega bundle. In the description it stated that items would be added to it...how do we access new items?

Also - I love your work! Thank you :) My fellow teachers are always jealous of my students' level of engagement!

However, I am frustrated that a lot of the activities have operations with negatives (which is fine for my high level 6th graders)...but, Common Core does not actually have integer rules and operations until 7th grade....so a lot of the activities/lessons are not applicable to my true standard 6th and co-taught students. Is there any way that some of the lessons could be differentiated to include positive numbers only, for example - the distributive property stations....

Thanks for your thoughts,

Hi Lindsay,

This looks wonderful! I'm wondering if this is too challenging for 5th grade. Thoughts?

This looks wonderful! I'm wondering if this is too challenging for 5th grade. Thoughts?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

It may be suitable for advanced 5th graders. It is heavy on fractions and decimals, but most are simple fractions such as fourths and halves. You could also leave out the page on volume.

Elizabeth F. re: Inequalities Powerpoint Review Game

Maybe this is dumb, but do you have instructions for this game?

I understand the concept of Jeopardy but not sure how to apply it to a class of 25 students.

Thanks

I understand the concept of Jeopardy but not sure how to apply it to a class of 25 students.

Thanks

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

It's not dumb at all! What I suggest is putting them in groups of 5. Each student should have their own answer sheet and one group member can be the one who shares the answer via white board (if you have them).

I would randomly select which group gets to pick the first category (maybe make it the first group that was organized). Even though that group picks, each individual student needs to solve the problem on their own. The groups must agree on one single answer.

You can either have groups hold up their answer and the first group to hold up the correct answer gets the points, OR you can have all 5 groups hold up answers at the same time, giving points to everyone who has it correct. If you play that way, simply go around the room, allowing groups to pick the next category and point value.

If you give points based on who has the answer correct first, let that group pick the next category/point value.

I hope that helps! My kids always loved having some competition. :) If you need further ideas, please email me at lindsayperro@gmail.com

Elizabeth W. re: 8th Grade Operations with Scientific Notation Stations

What are the six stations?

Lindsay Perro (TpT Seller)

The stations are:

1- Reviewing numbers written in scientific notation

2- Adding numbers in scientific notation

3- Subtracting numbers in scientific notation

4- Multiplying numbers in scientific notation

5- Dividing numbers in scientific notation

6- Scientific notation word problems
