Dawndeg re: 7th Grade Math Common Core Complete Resource Bundle
HI Lindsay, When will the last part of this be ready? I want to know before I buy.
Also, will you have one of these for 8th Grade?
May 23, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
I'm working on the last section now and hope to have it done by the end of the weekend. I will have them for 8th grade, but they won't be done until late summer.
May 23, 2013

jennifer9568 re: 6th Grade Math Common Core Complete Resource Bundle
Hi, This looks like such a great product. I know you've said that you will be working on one for 8th grade. When do you think that might be done? I'd love to use it for tutoring this summer. Do you have a similiar product for 4th grade?
May 21, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
I don't have a 4th grade product as I'm doing mostly Middle School right now. I won't have the 8th grade bundle complete until late summer. Once I finish the last 7th grade resource I'm going to take a break for a week or two since my family is moving across the state. Once I get back to it, I'll start on 8th grade.

jtrainor927 re: 7th Grade Math Common Core Complete Resource Bundle
Lindsay, Your materials are super high quality and absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Two quick questions: Will you be developing an 8th Grade Common Core Complete Resource Bundle? Will you be developing an 8th Grade Math Common Core Mini Assessments?

Thanks!
May 14, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
Yes for both! I have two more daily review bundles left for 7th, then I will move onto 8th!

Lindsay, I love your work-always high quality - will you add the 2 new units as a revision or separately? - I am happy to wait until you have them ready before I buy this!
May 14, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
They will be added as a revision. Hopefully within the next week!

Hi Lindsay,

I recently purchased your 6th Grade Common Core Bundle and 6th Grade Common Core Checklist. I did not realize that the Checklist was already included in the Bundle. Is there a way to get refunded for the Common Core Checklist purchase?
May 9, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
You can contact TpT and ask - however the checklists are listed with a link to the product included in the description for the bundle. The description for the checklists also has a link to the bundle. Everything in the bundle purchased individually would be \$49, so even with the extra \$4 you spent, you still saved a bunch on the rest of the resources!

Hi Lindsey,
I recently purchased several of your unit resources (fractions, equations, decimals, integers, etc). The resources look very promising and I cannot wait to use them next year. I'm taking your advice and I'm trying to stay away from the dull textbook next year. My question for you is... Do you have any particular order or timeline behind your resources? Many of them seem to include holiday or seasonal-themed sheets, and I was just curious if you had a particular teaching order that you recommend for teachers using your unit resources. Thanks!
May 5, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
Even though I don't use a textbook, I still have to follow the scope and sequence for my county. I'm told what to teach and when - but I use my own materials and do it my way! Most of my holiday themed resources I plan to revise to be used any time of year so it's more suitable for everyone and not just myself!

Katherine Goodrich  (TpT Seller)
I love your materials and wonder if you could also put together some common core items for 8th grade. My district is giving all of our math teacher teacherpayteachers gift certificates instead of buying textbooks and I pointed them to your page. I recall you asking for requests before. I really like the idea of your 7th grade common core number sense review "book". Thanks for your great work!
May 3, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
How wonderful that your district is giving you that option. I am absolutely putting together common core resources for 8th grade. I'm working on 7th now and once they're complete, I'll go through 8th!

Elizabeth Berry re: Beyond the Worksheet Again - More Middle School Math Activities
I bought this looking to use the scale and proportions worksheet but I can't seem to find it in the packet... am I crazy? What page of the packet can it be found on?
Thanks!
May 3, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
The scale and proportions activity (http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Scale-and-Proportions-Activity) is in my regular Beyond the Worksheet bundle - not this one. It's not listed on the contents sheet of this resource.

burroughs85 re: Beyond The Worksheet - Middle School Math Activities
Hello again! Just wondering if the logic puzzles were included in this package? Or the End of the Year Pack? I was looking at all 3, but didn't want to overlap completely. Thanks for your time! I've really loved everything of yours that I've purchased so far...Great activities!!
April 30, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
The logic puzzles are completely independent of anything else I have posted. There is one single coloring sheet that overlaps between the End of Year Activities for Middle School and Beyond the Worksheet!
April 30, 2013

burroughs85 re: Beyond The Worksheet - Middle School Math Activities
Hello! Sorry I have so many questions tonight - but I was planning on purchasing the 6th grade common core bundle. Are many of these activities in that bundle - or are the mostly different? Are these activities aligned to common core? Thanks again!
April 25, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
Never too many questions! :) There may be overlap with a resource or two, but it would be from the Statistics and Probability packet that you already have. So just checkout the list of resources to see what you'd be duplicating. I think it may just be an activity or two. Otherwise - it is a completely different resource from the 6th grade CC bundle!

dsherfey re: 6th Grade Common Core Geometry Review Booklet
Lindsey, I am having trouble getting answers to numbers 2, 3, and 4 on day 11 page. Can you provide explanations for answers? Also can you provide explanation for #4 on day 14 page. Thanks for your help. I'm getting different answers.
March 19, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
For Day 11:

#2 is asking for the perimeter. You would add 13+13+8+8+15 to get 57 for the answer. We don't add the 6 or the other 15 because they are interior measurements.

#4 is asking for area. I actually had this one incorrect - so thank you! You would add the two bases, 11+18 and divide the sum by two. You would then take that answer (14.5) x the height (14) for an answer of 203.

#4 is asking for area as well. The area of the rectangle at the bottom is 8x15=120 and the area of the triangle at the top is 1/2x15x6=45. The total area of the shape is 120+45=165.

Day 14
#4 You need the surface area from #3 (198.375) and you multiply that by the price per square inch of paper (\$0.25) for a total cost of \$49.59.

I hope that helps and thanks again for finding the error I made on day 11!

CamilleW re: Beyond The Worksheet - Middle School Math Activities
Is this bundle and the new one "Beyond the worksheet - Again" have the same sheets (just updated) or are they completely different?

dasindonna re: 6th Grade Math Common Core Complete Resource Bundle
Lindsay - I already have parts of this bundle as was wondering if the bundle could be priced minus what I have already purchased from you.

I love your resources although probably not using them as well as I could be. 90 students in 3 classes is a bit overwhelming with common core and state tests mid- April.

Thank you for the work you do. It's inspiring.

Hi Lindsay!
I've used so many of your activities with my 8th grade special Ed. Students and they have really enjoyed them. Just wondering- do you plan on making an 8th grade math common core mini assessment packet like this one. I think it would be so helpful before the state assessments in April. Thanks!
February 28, 2013
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
I was planning on working through 7th grade and then onto 8th... but I can see why having the mini assessments sooner for each grade level would be helpful. I'll see what I can do!

Hi there,

I purchased you product Fraction resource. I think it is terrific for my students. However, I am having trouble with your holiday word problems. For Number 1, I get 1/3; number 3 I don't get any of your answers and number 7, I get 5/8lb. Can you help me clarify these questions?

Thanks
Nancy
December 10, 2012
Lindsay Perro  (TpT Seller)
For #1, the family ate 5/6 of the ham - leaving only 1/6 left. The next day they ate half of the remaining 1/6, therefore leaving only 1/12 of the original ham left. The question is asking about the original ham, not the ham that was left after day one.

For #3, the students divide 250 by 19 and get 13.16 - which needs to be rounded to 14 hours. This is kind of like the questions where students need to decide how many school buses they need for 40 kids if one bus holds 38 kids. They need to round up to 14. 13 hours wouldn't be enough time.

Lastly, for #7 she only purchased 7/8 of a pound of chocolate chips. She ate 1/4 of that 7/8 of a pound - not 1/4 of a pound. 5/8 is the answer that you get when you subtract. Since we are thinking in terms of a whole pound of chocolate chips, this is actually a multiplication problem. Her original 7/8 is multiplied by 3/4, to yield the answer of 21/32. Since she ate 1/4 of it, the students should know she has 3/4 left and should ask themselves "What is 3/4 of 7/8?" and convert that to the multiplication problem 3/4 x 7/8.

Hope that helps! Email at me at lindsayperro@gmail.com if you need further clarification!

December 7, 2012

You're right. I had 37/200 as well. I have no idea why I have the answer as 16 something. I'll fix it and make it an easier question. I don't create my products in Word and am unable to send editable versions anyway due to copyright restrictions with clipart and font.

I test drove the Great Gift Mix Up (love it!!), and found just a couple of minor typos. On the list of Gifts on page 2, the word Animal is missing the 'l'. Dawn Ledbetter re: Line of Best Fit Scatterplot Activity
I liked this activity, but had to modify it after I gave it a test drive. The x-axis was pre-numbered, but should start at zero, not 1, where the y-axis was. The grid also needed to be taller for the Roses plot because if you numbered by 1's, you could not plot a y value of 19 or 20 from the table. Perhaps the y axis should be broken at the bottom and numbered above that starting at maybe 6. I modified by making it taller. Next time I will also pre-number the y-axis, since students got stuck/didn't follow directions and numbered using a scale that didn't work well. But other than the grid setup, I loved it!! You have a lot of very nice products; I hope to use more in the future!

Thanks so much for your input. I too had to modify it after using it in my classroom last year and thought I had the correct version on here. I will work on getting that fixed! Thank you so much for your kind remarks, despite the need for modifications!

MsFultzsCorner  (TpT Seller) re: Thanksgiving Logic Puzzle
Hi, Lindsay! We worked our Thanksgiving logic puzzle and had a similar problem with the 2 pies. Pumpkin is a fruit because it has seeds, grows on a vine, and starts as a flower so the first clue doesn't help when you get down to the 2 types of pies. We figured it out based on guessing that was the problem, but it had us stuck for a bit. :)

Hi Lindsay, thank you for the fun activity! I just tried doing it though, and at the end I was left with the two types of pie, and no clues as to which pie Mary and Monique like. Thank you so much for the fun activity! I know my kids will really enjoy it!

Ah! I'm so sorry! I just figured it out! I was working off of the old version, and then saw the amendment, and then I made that mistake! Wow...I was slow! Thank you! My kids loved it today!

Ellen, I'm so sorry to just be getting back to you. I had completely forgotten about your question. If you are left with two types of pie, the first clue should be able to help you because it states that Mary likes her dessert made with fruit. That would give her the apple pie and therefore, the pumpkin pie would go to Monique.

To play - click the "Slideshow" tab, then "From Beginning". Click on the point value for the question you which to show. The slide will display a question. Click the slide to show the answer. Click the arrow on the bottom left of the screen to return to the table of values.

Is this "MS Math Stations Bundle" incorporated throughtout your two Beyond the Worksheet books or is this a unit of its own?
Thank you.
Also, what are your top recommendations for 7th grade math students - common core?

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After spending 8 years as a classroom teacher and Middle School Math Intervention Teacher I am currently on a leave of absence, spending more time with my children. While I'm not "in" the classroom, I'm working from home as a freelance curriculum writer for various companies developing lessons and assessments for students across the country! I'm excited to take what I'm learning about Common Core and create some great products for teachers here on TPT!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in a structured, organized and comfortable classroom where students don't hesitate to ask questions, work together and try their best!
