Hey Meg - I've sent TpT a question about it and they directed me to some forums. The one quote that makes me believe that I would be okay is when all the Dr. Seuss controversy was going down. "We discovered that just because Dr. Seuss is used in the name of a product or images/excerpts are placed in products that are free or for sale, this does not necessarily mean that the product is infringing on copyright or trademarks." Thank you for your concern, and I've definitely kept them email that more or less said that TpT couldn't direct me one way or the other to cover my butt. :)

Hello Lisa,

Your Pythagorean theorem activity looks fantastic. I live in Australia and we use the metric system. I was wondering if you would consider having the same activity to purchase but with metric measurements. Of course, I understand if this is too much extra hassle. I would be willing to pay more. Great activity. However there are a couple of errors in the answer key. The last problem is missing an answer. And the first problem makes an incorrect assumption about the height of the triangle. Hi!
I just purchased (and have been going through) the Let's Go Skiing lesson/activity packet. It looks super - I'm so glad that people like you exist in the world!
I do have a quick fix question/request... since it is in PDF, I can't really fix it myself (I'm not that good - and my handwriting is sketchy at best!)
On page 32 - Linear Equations Test, the 2nd section, letter a) y = -3 + 3, but in the key it is a) y= -3x + 3. Can you add the x into the problem? I know it isn't a big big deal, but it would be super helpful!

Back with another question: Do people usually rate a project immediately or do they wait until they've actually used it, then rate. I've had lots of views...and 30 downloads for the two free ones posted. But know rating and no comments. Is this a bad thing? Be honet...be brutally honest if need be :)

Lisa Blagus  (TpT Seller)
It really just depends. I would think that people would want to rate an item after they have used it, but some people will purchase/download an item and give it a rating immediately without using it first, which can either help or hurt you. Most people use it first before rating though - and that proves to be "better feedback!"

I found a few typos in this. On the "So, here's the deal" page, it should say, "They're the type that like to make..." It says "likes."

On "The monsters meet up in the closet" page, it should say, "Bummer Barry acts as a negative and Happy Harry is a positive." Happy Harry is shown as negative.

On the "Let's look at another example" page, 5 negative monsters plus two positive monsters should be three negative monsters. You have "positive" there.

On the "Solve these following problems" page, it should say "Solve the following problems." or "Solve these problems." and "Check THE monster that has more friends." (It says "Check that monster that has more friends."

Please let me know when these issues have been resolved. It's a little frustrating to pay for something and not be able to use it or correct the errors.

Thank you.

Dakota5 re: Least Common Multiple/Least Common Denominator Lesson Plan
Lisa, hi! Love your products, and I am very excited about your LCM packet. I never knew that you could find the LCM by using the factors of the numbers. Cool!! :) I did have a question for you, though. :) In the example that you gave for finding the LCM of 100 and 180, I am thinking that because 9 is not a prime number, that it would have to be broken down to 3 squared. Would that be right...just wondering if that maybe was a typo?

I hope that you will forgive me if it turns out that it isn't, and that I am just not quite understanding it yet...which is highly likely!! :) Sure hope your year is off to a great start! Thanks again for all the amazing things you share with us!!
Take care,
Jody

Help! I'm so confused. I just bought this, but I'm not really sure of the directions. After the equations are solved, what are the next steps? Why are certain answers highlighted on the answer key and others are not? Please let me know if you can help clear this up. Thank you so much!

Hi! No problem.....all 10 questions need to be answered with either Answer 1 or Answer 2. Students will circle the answer and then color all of the corresponding blocks in the empty grid sheet. The answers are the correct highlighted answers. The answers that are not highlighted are incorrect answers. Hope that helps!

tsutton24 re: Middle School Math Lesson Plan, Fun Activities, Projects, Games
Hi Lisa. I purchased Middle School Math Lesson Plan, Fun Activities, Projects, Games from you recently. When I try to use Adobe to open it, there is an error on certain pages. One of the fonts (Jokerman) isn't compatible so some of the pages are blank. I am new to TPT so I am not sure what to do. I have Windows 7 and I use Internet Explorer 9. What do you recommend that I do in order to see all of the pages?

Hey there! Sorry about that. I can try emailing it to you. Since it's saved as a pdf, there shouldn't be an issue. What's your email address so I can shoot it over to you??

I noticed that page 18 and 19 mentions the use of footballs for every example, rather than tennis balls, baseballs, etc. Also page 21 and 22 mentions cupcakes both times, not cookie. Can this be fixed?

Hi Lisa,
I just purchased your "First Grade Common Core Bundle with the Standards & Objectives". I love the bundle-but I am having difficulty printing the document. Whenever I try to print, a box always comes up saying "Flattening", then after a few minutes another box tells me it was unable to print. It's not that I'm not tech savy-I'm competent on the computer. I've tried printing at school and home on 3 different computers and it still won't let me. I use a PC, did you use a mac? Could this be the problem? If I can't print it, it's really no use to me. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for your assistance.

I am unable to print this (although I can open it). Could you please email it to me as an atrtachment or send directions? Also, FYI, The first page/cover sheet says 2nd grade and not 1st.
It looks great!

Is this bundle just for first grade common core standards. I was a little confused since your history seems to be with higher grade levels. I am a brand new teacher...just graduated Sunday, so I would love a bundle to get me started in first grade. :)

Hey Mrsh2012! Congrats on your graduation! That's very exciting. As most of my items are for grades 5-8, this is actually just for first grade! Enjoy it!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my 6th year teaching in Salisbury Middle School. I've taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and did my teaching experience in elementary school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a somewhat new teacher, I have realized that I absolutely do not like textbooks. They hardly ever fit the standards we need to teach; therefore, I tend to create my own materials!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

My undergrad was done at Salisbury University. My major is Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics. I studied at Walden University to gain my masters in Teacher Leadership.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

When I am not teaching, I spend my time with my family. I'm a newlywed with 2 dogs and 1 cat that take up most of my time! I enjoy teaching, especially with my "at-risk" students and living life to the fullest!
