An excellent lit guide. It saved me TONS of time. Thank you. Christine I thought the writing assignments and the questions that were posed were great! The activities look great! I am excited to use them during the school year. I did encounter a problem with the margins after I downloaded it. Everything was bumped up about a quarter of a page. I used this literature guide for a summer reading and writing program with middle schoolers. It was truly excellent! Lots of great discussion questions, cool writing ideas (all related to the six traits) and nicely done handouts. It made the novel more fun to discuss and saved me tons of time. Lisa, you should do more of these. I would definitely buy more of your work! I was very pleased with the literature guide for Star Girl. It was worth the money. Some of the fonts were difficult to read but you can change it. Overall a great buy and a HUGE help in anyones classroom.

I teach ninth grade and my kids absolutely LOVED this lesson. It was a fantastic formative assessment that really let me see where everyone was, rather than just the more vocal students.

The Friend Connection, a Game Show Teaching Characterization

Great idea; requires higher-level thinking on the part of students as they assume the role of a character from a book/short story Great! Fun idea. We have "Character Dress Up Day" at my school - on or near Oct. 31 ;)- and encourage the kids to bring the book about the character they dress as. This would be a fun activity to do with that!
