Best FREE activity ever!!! I used this with fifth graders earlier this week to discuss a quote that related to our reading of "Number the Stars". They were totally into it and really challenged each other to think deep and respond. I asked them if they liked it, and all of the students said yes, for a variety of reasons! What a great way to mix things up and make learning interactive!!

I actually just figured out how to do it! I went into my finder and then renamed the file taking off the .dot and it worked. Thank you for your prompt response! I am curious if you have the activities you mentioned in the coordinate graph ppt for sale in your store (the pirate and connect four). Thanks! I love your stuff!

The "Blackbeard's Treasure" game can be found here: http://mathlearnnc.sharpschool.com/UserFiles/Servers/Server_4507209/File/Instructional%20Resources/G4WW1-4.pdf Connect Four is super simple! I just used laminated coordinate grids and gave students 2 different colored Vis a Vis markers. One was X and one was O. They had to go back and forth naming ordered pairs and marking their spots. Winner had 4 in a row. Hope this helps! :)

I purchased your Fabulous fractions ppt and I cannot get it to open. The file extension says ".ppt.dot" and I"m wondering if that's the problem. I really hoped to use this tomorrow. If you see this message, please let me know how I can possibly fix this. I've bought lots of PPT on TPT and not had this problem, so I am thinking it has something to do with the .dot extension. I was wondering if you can create two more slides. I will pay for them. One that shows how to use lattice to multiply and one that uses compatible numbers to divide. Thank you. I want to teach the children all the possible ways to multiply and divide, and see which one they prefer using. For example, 1248 divided by 4 using compatible numbers can be solved by diving 12 into 2, 4 into 2, and lastly, 8 divided into 2. You would put parenthesis between each expression.
