I'm getting this packet ready for next year and noticed an error. On the Page "HOW TO WRITE A SENTENCE" with Jeffy the Giraffe on it the letter that starts with "Hello! my name is Jeffy!" ends with "Have fun making Sentences!" However the sentence is split onto 2 lines with improper capitalization on the word sentences. Can you correct his in the product and post an edited/updated version?

When you open Activinspire, Click on FILE, IMPORT, SMARTnotebook File. Then it should let you browse for the SMART file and import it. Please send me feedback and let me know if it works. You are the second customer I've had with an Activ Board and I would really like to know if it converts easily. If it still does not convert, I may have to save it differently on my end and then have you try to convert it. Let me know what happens.

Hi! I just downloaded the Teddy Roosevelt file myself from TpT and it worked fine. There must be something with your SMART notebook software. It shouldn't matter which version of SMART notebook you have. It will work in all versions whether you've updated or not. What happens when you try to open it?

Hi! I am a Kindergarten teacher here in Texas. I have a question for you. Does your school use CSCOPE for curriculum? If so, how long? Our district just rolled it out for us to begin using it. I love it, but many of my colleagues are overwhelmed and do not like it at all. Did anyone on your faculty have the same problems? Can you tell me how your school overcame the issues? Of course these questions are assuming you do use it. I really appreciate any help you can give me.

I currently teach at a private Christian school. However, my BFF teaches 1st grade here in Brenaham and we, too have just adopted CSCOPE this year. She tells me that all of the teachers are a little frustrated. As a veteran teacher she feels like it is very disjointed. They just taught US symbols when a better time would have been in February during Presidents Day. She tells me math skills don't follow a good progression. Certain skills are taught before other foundational skills. She also told me that her sister has taught CSCOPE in a different district for a couple of years and her sister's colleagues don't like it either. It's interesting to me that 48 out of 50 of our states use Common Core and Texas is only 1 of 2 using CSCOPE. I'd love to hear back from you as to how your year turns out. Good luck!

I believe I am talking about SMARTnotebook......I am using the site Graphics Factory and there are several interactive products available. I was thinking I might try to put something together but am not real computer savy ( my daughter-in-law is) and was wondering how I do that. I am thinking I need to by the SMARTnotebook software( but am not sure if I can use it for commercial use) and download the products, then what file do you put it in?

You can buy the SMARTnotebook software. I'm not sure how costly that is. You can use it for commercial use. Once you have the software it will create a SMARTnotebook file for you or you can create a file of your own and save the lessons. Then you just upload them directly to TPT. You may have to zip them first. Your daughter-in-law can help you with that. Aren't daughter-in-law wonderful? SMART actually has some graphics of its own. But not always cute. Not sure what you mean by SMARTboard apps. I just use clipart from the internet. SMART doesn't have much cute clipart. The interactive games I created using SMART applications. Movies I "video captured" using a seperate video capture program. Exactly which parts are you talking about? I would love to help you. We need more SMART products out there.

First, make a cover page for EVERY product you create which can then be used as an attractive thumbnail to entice buyers even if it is a one page resource. Add a second page which is a directions or suggestions page. List several ways you use this product in your classroom. Never assume that a buyer knows how, why, or when to use your product.
Use the footer to put the copyright symbol, your name and date of creation on EVERY page. Here is how to do that. Use the insert and go to the right. You should see symbols there. Insert the copyright symbol, your name and date. It should look something like this: © V. Rauch (Scipi), 2011Items, especially free ones, have been "stolen" from TPT and posted on other sites to be sold. You have to protect all of your creations. Also, number your pages.

We use a phonics based curriculum at my school. I love to add units for holidays and seasons that include smartboard lessons, videos, art projects, writing prompts, and of course a snack to wrap up the unit.
