Thanks so much for the kind words. It's always nice to hear! A few comments down here, Natalie asked me the same question. This is what I told her: One of my proofers teaches second grade in a Title 1 school and said this would be perfect for her students. Although most of these activities are also second grade common core standards, I think that a typical second grade class, may find that they have too much support and that they are not challenging enough. Since I taught second grade for many years, I think that some of the activities can be used and some can not.

I just found out that I have grade 2 next year. So I have two questions - is this product too young for grade two? If yes, do you plan on making one for grade 2? I look forward to hearing from you:)

I do not make the whole book before the school year. Some children use just the first page and some need a few pages because they write more. I make every child a portfolio, which is just a large sheet of construction paper folded in half, with their name on it. Each month, the children fill out their yearbook page, using as many of the second sheet as necessary. When they are done, they put them in their portfolio. At the end of the year, they spent some time making sure each page was colored nicely and looked perfect. Then I took home their portfolios and bound them each a book. Keeping them in the portfolio kept it organized for the whole year.

Hi, I just bought the first grade sight word packet and noticed that List 9, the configuration station, the words do not match the boxes. The boxes are the same as the ones for the words on list 8. And then the What's missing page for list #9 is not the list 9 words, it's the activity for list 8 repeated exactly. Would it be possible for you to send those two pages that match list 9?

I really like these review sheets!! I understand you keep these in a notebook for students to select, complete and return. I worry my kids would select the same pages they've already completed. How do you/they keep track? Are your students able to read the directions at the top of the pages? I'd like them to be independent but I don't think my kiddos can read the directions on their own. Are these issues you've had to resolve in your class?

Thanks for the kind words, Beth! I don't usually worry about children not being able to read directions because there is ALWAYS someone in the class who can read really well. I have an "ask 3 before me" policy. I also don't worry about the children selecting the same pages all the time because I explained to them the importance of trying different activities. They totally agree with me! It's a trust issue, really. I trust my students to do the right thing and, they do, because then they earn my trust. It's important to them to earn my trust. I hope I've answered your questions!
