Beginning Sound Sort – After printing and laminating, I cut around the snow mats that have the letters on them. I punch a hole in the upper left corner and ring them together. I then cut out the snowmen, not really on the lines, just around them. I put Velcro dots on the mats and on the backs of the snowmen. Then the students just put the snowmen on the right snow scene.
Alphabet Magnet Mat- After laminating, I trim the edges. Students use a cookie sheet as their work space. I use a white paint pen to write the capital or lowercase letters on button magnets. The paint pen and button magnets are both at Walmart. Then depending on the level of your students, they can match capital to capital, lowercase to lowercase, or capital to lowercase. My kids love these magnet activities, and once you make the magnets, you can use them on all the magnet mats.
Capital and Lowercase Sequence Cards- After printing and laminating, I cut these cards apart and put magnets on the back. Students then use a cookie sheet as their work space and put the cards in order. We always start with the capital letters and an alphabet strip. Soon students progress to sequencing without an alphabet strip. Then they move on to lowercase cards and a lowercase alphabet strip, until they don’t have to have alphabet strips at all. The snowman soup game is so much fun. The letters or numbers go in a pocket chart. You hide the candy canes or marshmallows behind some of the letters. The students identify a letter and if that letter has a candy cane behind it, they get a small candy cane treat. It's tons of fun and can be adapted for any holiday. You can use eggs at Easter, or hearts on Valentine's. The list goes on and on. You can also change the skill to sight words, or number facts, just what ever skill you are working on. I hope you enjoy!

Enjoyed your presentation today in Gatlinburg. Please add all of your center ideas to your store as fast as you can. Also, could you make the puzzles with letters for sequencing. You could vary the letters that you started with. My students in 1st grade RTI need extra practice with sequencing letters from any point.

I will have to check out the madebyteachers.com website. Thanks for sharing. Well, I wish I had some great words of wisdom to share with you about selling, but I am quite new at this too (6 months). Most of my stuff I have made for my kindergarten classroom, so it just seemed crazy not to try to sell it since alot of it was already made. I do have lots of things to sell, but it was just easier for me to add them how they already were instead of wasting time to put things together. I am very simple. I don't really like to have to write down explanations and show people how I used it in my classroom. What you see is what you get!! I have been pleased with my sells so far. I sell about 100-150 products each month, except summer. That's better than nothing!! I hope your store goes well. I am checking out your site right now.

I will have to check out the madebyteachers.com website. Thanks for sharing. Well, I wish I had some great words of wisdom to share with you about selling, but I am quite new at this too (6 months). Most of my stuff I have made for my kindergarten classroom, so it just seemed crazy not to try to sell it since alot of it was already made. I do have lots of things to sell, but it was just easier for me to add them how they already were instead of wasting time to put things together. I am very simple. I don't really like to have to write down explanations and show people how I used it in my classroom. What you see is what you get!! I have been pleased with my sells so far. I sell about 100-150 products each month, except summer. That's better than nothing!! I hope your store goes well. I am checking out your site right now.

Thanks for your interest. I think most of these are dolch sight words. I may have added a few c-v-c words like jet and van so I could have additional nouns to make sentences. My kids loved doing these!! They were totally independent after about a week. They enjoyed that.

The white circles are about nickel size. The button magnets are at Walmart. They are about $6.87 (I think)for 52 magnets. The good thing is, once you make the magnets, you can use them with all the alphabet mats. In class, we start out by matching capital to capital, then we match lowercase to lowercase, and finally we match capital to lowercase. My kids love this activity. I use a white paint pen to write the letters on the magnets. They are also at Walmart for about $2.87. Let me know if you need more info.

I just bought this and was wondering if you cut them out so the students can clip them? If so, there is not space between the boxes so they don't appear to cut nicely...Also, I was wondering if you had all of the basic number facts like 0+1 and 1+0 and so on...These look wonderful though, I'm excited to use them, thank you!!
