When you download the file you will receive the pdf of the picture cards, common core cards and activity cards. You will need to print them and laminate them if you choose to do that (highly recommended). I really love the Michael's box, but other boxes could work too. So, I suppose not so much ready-made as you'll need to print and cut out the pictures. Hope this helps. Julie

Hi, I purchased the first grade bundle cookie sheet activity. I am confused as I have a lot for List one-List three sight words. For List four and up I only have the sight words paper where students use magnets to reproduce the words and the 4 in a row game. Do you have any sight word sentences activities for list 4-9? I really like this activity and in the bundle I purchased it only had sentences for Lists 1-3. Please let me know if I can purchase this in another bundle. Thanks

Hi- The majority of the hands-on activities contained in the bundle are for lists 1-4. That is because by the time the students pass list 3 they tend to quickly learn the other words and do not necessarily require the same amount of support. I don't have the sentences for lists 4-9 in this bundle-- but since you asked I will try to develop those. Can you send me your email and when they are completed I'll send them to you (julie.vanalst@gmail.com). I have a few big projects I'm working on right now, but I'll put it on the list. Thanks so much. Julie

Hi Tom- I have. I am on vacation but when I get back I'd like to do some research. I'm just very protective of the MT&T brand will have to be sure that whatever is created is very high quality and educationally accurate in all respects. So, it's difficult to think of partnering with someone I do not personally know. I have though about creating several of the activities into an app in the past, but there is a lot involved- for example, the voice part of the app and then the response for correct/incorrect answers. Sorry for the delay, but creating a high quality app will be complicated and I really need to think about it and talk with others. Julie

Hi,

I will be using it to work with a child who is slightly delayed in oral and receptive language, as part of one of my graduate classes. So, I am on a budget. The shipping charge is a lot for me. Having been a kindergarten teacher, I have most of the manipulatives.

I see it comes with the following:
In addition to 125 printed pages on cardstock, this kit also includes the following materials: race cars, balls, cups, magnetic bingo chips, colored bingo chips, plastic counting squares, dog bones, craft sticks, envelopes and baggies for storage and Sterilite container

*I only need the items below. Would it be possible to get a price and shipping adjustment for the items I need? Please let me know, so that I may order as soon as possible.

-125 printed pages on cardstock
-race cars
-balls
-magnetic bingo chips

Pam N. re: Classroom Sized Bunny Feet Sight Word Game Board
Hi! These are so cute! My kiddos would really enjoy this! What an awesome way to practice those sight words! Just have a few questions- about how many kids do you have play this at one time? And do they roll a dice to determine how many words to hop on? How is it played? Do they have to read the word before they can hop to the next one? Please explain.
March 16, 2014 Report inappropriate comment
Make Take Teach
Make Take Teach  (TpT Seller)
Hi Pam- it's played just like you play if it were on a regular game board. I would not use it with more than 2-3 players at a time as you don't want children standing too long waiting (actually another player can help with the dice). It would be ideal for center rotations as a center activity. So one child can hold the dice, give it to a child who rolls (let's say a 3)- that student moves up 3 feet and reads the word that he/she lands on. The next player takes a turn and does the same thing. The first player to the end winds. You really don't need to use the feet as a "game"- you can just have students hop from word to word as they read the word. If you use them this way, you can have more children hopping around on the feet. Hope this helps. There's no strict rules on how to use the feet. Thanks.

Hi,

I had a question about where these word lists came from. I have cross-referenced them with two other Dolch lists (I was using bits and parts of multiple resources) and this list does not include all Dolch words. I have a spreadsheet that shows the differences between lists.

In addition, some words that are listed as pre-primer on other Dolch lists are in list 5, 6, or 7 within your resource. This happens with other "levels" of words as well.

Thanks,

Lisa

Hi Lisa- this is the list that our districts use and the list came from the Teacher Reading Academy which was connected with our Reading First initiative. They did not divide the lists into pre-primer, primer, first, etc. but into 9 lists of 25 which are, from my understanding, ordered by frequency. Hope this helps. This summer I'll pull other lists to see how they correlate. Thanks. Julie

The Dolch 220 sight words are ordered by frequency. This is the list that our districts use and they were presented at the Teacher's Reading Academy (Reading First Initiative). Instead of breaking them down into pre-primer, primer, first, second, we have benchmark goals for numbers expected. So by end of K we expect at least 25, by end of 1st- 175 and by mid-second all 220. I do think, however, you can find the same words broken down into pre-primer, primer… lists. You may want to do a google search. Hope this helps. Julie

I do not yet have the Write It cards bundled. I plan to bundle them this summer. I'm not sure that I'll have all 8 sets as they are graphics heavy and the file size may be too large. Thanks. Julie

Hi- If you go to my store on TpT and look along the left side. Under Resource Types there is a Hard Goods link and you'll find the kits under that section. Hope this helps. Julie

The cards are also available on the MT&T website. Please go to www.maketaketeach.com and click on the freebies section. That file is on my old computer so not sure I can find it easily. If it doesn't work, you can email me at julie.vanalst@gmail.com and I will try to find the original file. Thanks. Julie

 The Bee Hive
The Bee Hive  (TpT Seller) re: Response to Intervention- Activity Pack for Magic e
I'm working on my kit right now and there are some great activities! I'm excited about using it to help my 4 intervention students. However, I'm not really comfortable using the win/wine cards in the activities. I can pull those cards out for the clip game and magic e game, but it's also on the lotto boards. There are only 3 lotto cards to begin with and not using that whole card takes my kit down to 2. Is there anyway to rework that one square on that particular card? Thanks for the hard work and time you put into this kit!

Hi- I'm happy to rework it. Coming up with pictures to represent magic e pairs is pretty difficult. I'll switch it out for spin/spine. It'll take a few days as my artist will have to draw the pics. Can you please email me and I'll send it to you via email julie.vanalst@gmail.com Thanks so much. Julie

Buyer re: St. Patrick's Day 4-In-A-Row Phonics Game Boards
This looks like a great game! It's too hard for kindergarten, but could work if the words were easier.
Any chance you could make a few with pre primer words or simple cvc words? Thank you!

Hello! I love your Activities on the Go! I was wondering if you ever bundle (Phonics Bundle, PA, etc.)? I would love to use these in my Guided Reading Groups!

Thanks so much!

Hi Deanna- I do plan on bundling the Activities on the go. Most likely I'll bundle them into 4 units since the activities are graphics-heavy and the file size would be too large if I add more than that. I'm thinking after St. Patrick's Day I could get those up. The File Folder Phonics activities are bundled. Thanks. Julie

Buyer re: Dolch Sight Word Assessment and Progress Monitoring Materials
I really like the assessment tool that you have created. This will work with various skill levels and I am looking forward to implementing it with my kindergarten class. My question is how do you determine when to move a student on to the next list? Do they have to master all of the words before moving on or a certain percentage?

Hi- there is no hard and fast rule, but I use 80% as a guideline. Then you may not want to add all the words at one time. Hope this helps. Julie

I have lots of cookie sheets that I got from the dollar store they are smaller than a full size baking sheet, what size are your templates?

The cookie sheets I use are 9 X 13. I purchase them at Walmart- they are the MainStays- small for 98 cents. The templates are 8/12 x 11 (typical office paper size). Hope this helps. Julie
