I purchased the poems and organizers and downloaded them to my computer, but they will not print. I can view everything in Adobe, but only the first nine pages of the organizers will print and only the first 30 pages of the poems print. I have tried to redownload the files, but they still only partially print. Any suggestions?

Hi. Thank you for your inquiry. The Kindergarten mini lesson products that say Common Core in the title are for the common core standards. I have not done one yet for just vocabulary. The vocabulary product I have listed is not specifically for common core. The Common Core Foundational Skills product for kindergarten has the print concepts, phonological awareness, and phonics and word recognition included, so if you already have the separate common core print awareness and phonological awareness in your cart, you would be duplicating if you also bought the Foundational Skills product. I don't think they are considered thinking maps. They are graphic organizers. You can download the preview and look at the table of contents to see what graphic organizers are included in the product. Hi. This product is in a zipfile. See if these help you. If you're using Windows XP, then your operating system has built-in support for Zip files. They are described as "Compressed (zipped) folders." Just double-click on a Zip file and it will open in Explorer, just like a folder. Double-click on a file inside the compressed folder and you may be able to open that too (but really, Windows has extracted a copy of the file to another location and is opening that, as described above.) But if you right-click on items in a compressed (zipped) folder, you'll notice that the same options don't appear on the pop-up menu. This shows that it is not a real folder.
Or, Do one of the following:

Hi. Thank you for your question. The closest thing that I have to a fifth grade grammar product is "Writing - Revising and Editing". It has short passages with errors in the passages that need to be corrected. Multiple choice questions follow each passage and ask students to decide what needs to be corrected or revised. Take a look at it. Download the preview to see how it fits with what you need. It is written for fourth grade but could work for fifth as well. Thanks.

I'd like to get either this product or the 30 graphic organizers product for use in both a 2nd & a 3rd grade classroom. I teach at a school overseas where all the students are non-native English speakers and have had very little exposure to poetry. Which product do you think will be more appropriate for them? Is the 2-5 packet more geared towards the older end of that spectrum? Would 3rd grade ESL students still find the K-2 activities interesting & instructive?

Thank you for your email. There is a mixture of expository and fiction passages. There are 30 passages for each of grade 2, 3, and 4 in the third grade product. Out of the 30 passages at each grade level, one third are expository and two thirds are fiction. There are no poems. Some of the expository are informational, some are procedural, and some are persuasive. I hope this helps. Thanks.

Hi. Thank you for your email. Yes, phonological awareness has to do with sounds. The phonological awareness mini lessons provide the teacher with phonological awareness activities that are presented orally to the students. For example, one of the lessons is about sentences. Sometimes words can make sentences and sometimes words do not make a sentence. The teacher says groups of words out loud for the students to listen and decide if they are sentences or not. Another example is with rhyming words. The teacher says two words that may rhyme or not. The students listen and determine if the words rhyme or not. The mini lessons provide the teacher with written lesson plans for orally presented lessons. Some of the lessons do also include the written words or sentences but they are not essential to the lesson. I hope this helps. Thanks.

The sentence writing teacher lessons are mini lessons that introduce the students to sentence writing. There are 20 lessons in the product. These teacher lessons are not teacher lessons for the 9 sets of student sentence writing. The 9 sets of student sentence writing are separate practice writing exercises from the teacher sentence writing lessons. You do not need to purchase the teacher lessons to be able to use the student sentence writing lessons. I am sorry for the confusion. I hope this helps. Thank you.
