TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've spent 32 years in the classroom teaching language arts. I read aloud to my students every day and encourage all teachers to do that. Not only does it stimulate the children to become better readers and writers, but it bonds the class as they travel together through the adventures of a good book.

MY TEACHING STYLE

A combination of team teaching, group work, hands-on projects, and individual challenges.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My first middle-grade novel, The Secret of Bailey's Chase, won the Readers Favorite Award in 2010. The sequel, Back to Bailey's Chase, has received excellent reviews.
