4th grade classroom situated in inner-city Kansas City, Kansas. Combination 1st/2nd grade classroom in small town in Central Kansas Currently a Title 1 Teacher for a small elementary school K-6th grade. Many opportunities of subbing and interning in classrooms throughout college and years after.
I like my lessons to be hands-on. This is sometimes hard to do, but easier with smaller class sizes and small pull-out groups.

After graduating college and finding work as a para for local elementary schools, I found work in Kansas City, Kansas working with 4th graders. During my one year there, I went through many changes in my life such as getting married and expecting our first son, Jacob. My father also suffered a major stroke so we decided to move closer to home and him. During the following year, I subbed and took care of our infant son and looked for a more permanent teaching position. I found a position in a school that I had worked as a para for in past years and was welcomed in as the 1st and 2nd grade combination teacher. I had much to adjust to my first year, including the pregnancy and birth of our twin boys, Eli and Isaac! For 3 years I enjoyed this position and coworkers. During the third year, our district transferred the land that the schools served to another district... (budget issues). We are now in our second year combined with the neighboring community and loving it. I still get to see my sweet kiddos that I taught in 1st and 2nd grade and meet new ones from the other school. I absolutely love my Title 1 teaching position.
