Something is seriously wrong with this download. Pictures are layered on top of each other and don't seem to go with nearby text. In fact, in many cases, the text is totally blocked by the picture. It's not clear why these pictures are here. I cannot use this powerpoint without rewriting it almost entirely.

Taybird-have you tried running through the powerpoint presentation yet? All of those pictures have transitions, and they are each meant to appear upon mouse click one at a time after the text is alone on the screen. That is how it appears on my computer when it is run through the Microsoft powerpt program.
If this doesn't solve it, I am sorry and can try to g get you your money back. However, if you do find that I works, would you please change your rating and remove the comment?
Please let me know if it does not work, Bc I will take down and fix the product.

January 24th, 2012: Taybird, I don't know why you're having difficulty with the presentation. I just downloaded it again myself and played it through, and I can see all the text and the pictures perfectly- the text shows first, and the images transition in after. I'm not sure why you've had difficulty, but I can assure other buyers that there is nothing faulty about the presentation.
The only things I could think of as to why it wasn't working for you are:
1. Are you playing it in Microsoft Powerpoint, or some other presentation tool? It was created for Microsoft's version.
2. Did you play the slide show through, or did you just look at the slides as they appear on the layout? If you didn't play it through, you wouldn't see the transitions and how the pictures don't show up until after the text is read.

There are a lot of pictures; in my experience, pictures add to the students' enjoyment and retention of the material. However, there is a copious amount of material as compared with the amount of pictures. And, most of the images are used as metaphors; when talking about sentence complexity, I show an image of a Dr. Pepper can to represent simple sentences, whereas a Diet Dr. Pepper represents a complex sentence. So, I do take some issue with the comment that there are a lot of pictures which have "nothing to do with [the] actual message."

No, it's just this page. Sorry, I listed it as having only 1 page, but I put a lot of work into figuring out the best way to define these terms for my kids that the Common Core uses.
