Ethel2345 re: On My Way to Kindergarten! {Pre-K Review/Early K Practice Packet}
I have a question. On one of your preview pages for the On Way To Kindergarten packet, the bottom of one page has the sentence " I see 6 shells" with directions to color the shells. However, it looks like there are only pictures of 5 shells. Is the picture supposed to match the sentence?

Hi! It is password protected against copying the images only. I'm not sure why it says that when you are trying to save it. :( If you are able to download it, then it should already be saved on your computer. Maybe check your downloads folder? Or your desktop? (wherever your files go when you download them) You should be able to move the files and rename them from there. You can also contact customer support (at the bottom of the tpt page) and the tech crew might be able to give you more insight than I can. Let me know if it still doesn't work and we'll figure something out!

So sorry I am just now seeing this! Were you able to figure out how to print smaller? You can choose to print multiple copies per page (sometimes it says multiple handouts or slides) so that you have each picture print as a half-page. Does that make sense? If not, let me know and I can try and walk you through it. :)

eburk re: Rock, Paper, Scissors: Subtraction
Hi! I love your Rock, Paper, Scissor game. I notice though that you state they are aligned to the core, but are listed as K-3 grade appropriate. The standards for each grade are quite different. Does this mean that you include all standard expectations within your games? (tiered level) For a kindergarten class, 2nd/3rd grade standard problems wouldn't be appropriate. I would hate to buy the games and find that there are only a few kindergarten appropriate problems.

Mary Lirette  (TpT Seller)
Hi there! On each game I state the Common Core Alignment on the product description and the title page (first thumbnail image). Some games align with more than one grade level. For example, the subtraction to 20 game aligns with 1st grade (CCSS 1.OA.6) and 2nd grade (CCSS 2.OA.2). The grade span tags do not necessarily reflect only the Common Core aligned grades. I have tagged multiple grade levels so that the buyer can determine whether or not the game will work as enrichment or remediation for their students. I have kindergartners who are already successful at adding and subtracting to 20, even though it is not a standard that we cover in K. I allow them to play this game as an enrichment activity since they are way passed addition and subtraction to 10. Also, you have the option of omitting the cards that are too challenging (or too easy). For my kiddos that are still working on subtracting to 10, I remove the cards that cover above 10 and make duplicate copies so that they have enough cards for a good game. Of course, when you make multiple copies the kids will get a card with a certain problem on it more than once. I like it that way, though, because it is extra exposure to the fact and helps build autonomy. :) I hope this answers your question!

tblalock re: Programmable Literacy Maps and Posters for Workstations
I love this system, but I have noticed one problem during my rotations. It seems that the cards with the guided reading group in the #3 spot is not programmed like the other 5 colored cards. There are a few of the cards that have the same center activities at the same exact time, so I have 2 or more of the light blue group people attending centers together instead of spreading out around the classroom in different centers. For instance, I only have 3 kids attending the same group if I leave this rotation card out. However, if I include to use this set of cards...I have 3 kids in some centers and 6 in other centers. It seems that the light blue set has some matching pictures. I hope this makes sense. If not, please let me know and I will try to explain it again. I currently do not use the light blue set and do not see a group during rotation #3 for reading, due to the number of kids it places in an area at the time....but I would love to have a corrected set, so I can use them. Thanks!

Hi there! What grade level is the student? The vocabulary words are all specific to our government system so they could be challenging for a younger ESL student (patriotism, judicial, executive, etc.). I think the graphic organizers are pretty open ended so they should be ok, as well as the art projects. The packet can be adapted for as young as 1st grade but I know it has also been used in 4th grade. Let me know if you need any more info!

Hi there! Unfortunately, you can not drag and drop the image into a pdf. You have the option of doing it the old fashioned way of gluing the new picture to the blank page and laminating it. Or, do you have a screen hunter program (free)? You can take a screen shot of the blank page you want to use, drop the image (the screenshot you took) into Word, Powerpoint, etc., and then paste your environmental print image on top. If you have a few pictures to add in, I do not mind doing it for you if it is easier. You can e-mail them to me at mary.lirette@yahoo.com and I'll add them for you and e-mail them back! :)

Sure! You can always do it the old fashioned way of gluing the new picture to the blank page and laminating it. Or, do you have a screen hunter program (free)? You can take a screen shot of the blank page you want to use, drop it into Word, Powerpoint, etc., and then paste your image on top. If you have a few pictures to add in, I do not mind doing it for you. You can e-mail them to me at mary.lirette@yahoo.com and I'll add them for you and e-mail them back!

Hi Mary, I bought your transition music PPT but I would like to be able to change the pictures. Would you please send me a copy that I can edit the pictures since these do not fit my needs.

Thanks,

Unfortunately, I have decided not to share the actual images since they are my own work and I am not selling my clip art at this time. Even if I were to include the jpegs I'm not sure how you would be able to edit them. Are you wanting to change them entirely or just change colors? Is there a particular image that you were wanting? I can see what I can do to fit your needs better.

I just sent in a help request with tpt's tech support. Thanks for the suggestion.
In the meantime, do you think you could send me the 2"x4" and 1" x 2 5/8" labels to see if I can get those to work? I really appreciate all your help and I would love to have these labels in my classroom this year!
Thank you,

I think you could definitely adapt most of the activities. The art projects might be too easy by themselves but you could always add a writing component as an extension to them. I'd be happy to send you some more preview images if you would like to see them first!

I'm using the correct size labels, but when I print them out on my computer they are not printing inside the label. The first 4 on the page fit correctly, but then after that they start spreading so the top and bottom of graphic will be in two different labels. Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Mary,

I purchased the set of environmental print alphabet posters (LOVE THEM!) last night. I have the latest version of adobe. However, only the photos from the cover page and end page print. For each letter the page frame and the letters print, however the photos to go with them do not. Could you please help? I was hoping to be able to hang these up by tomorrow, which is our open house. Thanks!!!!!!!! Amy

Oh no! I have NO idea why the pages would print without the picture. :( Are you printing the first pages- pages 1-47? The last half of the packet has the blank pages (those without pictures, only the border and letters on them). Have you contacted tpt tech support? Maybe they are familiar with this and can help you. So sorry! Let me know if you can't figure it out.

I was wondering if you could make the environmental print in cursive? I teach 5th grade but a majority are ELL and the enviornmental print would be great, but I think the hand print might be too young.

Mary,
I love your labels!!! Thanks for posting these. I would love to use them but the computer will not let me save them to print later at school. It says that I need a password in order to save the labels. Would you be able to provide me with that so I can print when I return to school? Thanks again for sharing your hard work.

Hmm...it shouldn't be asking you for a password. If you were able to download them to your computer then they should be saved somewhere in your downloads folder or desktop. Hopefully you can find it and print it from your save file? It might have something to do with a difference in our versions. You can contact tpt's tech support too. They usually have a quick fix for things like this! Please let me know if it still isn't working for you and we'll try something else! mary.lirette@yahoo.com - I'm so glad you like the labels! :)

Hello! Thanks for the great posters - I love them! I do want to add a few of my own pictures to help "Canadianize" them for my students. Do I need to print them out and do it manually - or is there a way to insert the photos digitally? Thank you!

Hi! I'm so glad you like them! Yes, you certainly can print them out and do it manually. If you have a screen capturing program you could also "capture" the image, paste it into a blank document, and drag and drop your photo on top. Thanks so much! :)
