I am a homeschool parent and will be teaching Algebra 1 next year to my 9th grader. We will be using the Paul Foerster book Algebra 1: Expressions, Equations, and Applications, classic edition 1999. I do not know if you are familiar with this book. I am trying to find tests that I can use for this course, without having to purchase the publishers $100 version.
Do you have any idea if your tests would be equivalent to this book? Is that an impossible question?!

Thank you. Unfortunately, I do not know this book. If you are looking for tests for a traditional course, these could work fine and based on my experience in using these tests with my class, these can challenge your child. I did a little research and just from the short descriptions I found, think you might need to add some application problems but would not know for sure without seeing the actual text. At any rate, you can't go wrong with having more problems for practice and tests.

I checked the file and the answer key is there for all pages. However, I did notice that section 5 is labeled incorrectly as 6 in the answer key. I'm wondering if you accidentally erased some pages. Try downloading the file again and see if they reappear.

You can copy the notes for your students, and I don't mind if you e-mail the file. However, you cannot post them on a website because then it would be a free download for anyone who could find them through a search engine. I'm glad you like the guide and are finding the, valuable.

First of all, thank you so much for your comment on the newsletter. I did make another one for $1.00, but have only sold about 20 copies. I started another one, but they are a lot of work for so little buyers. However, I am coming up with a different plan where I will make them available for free and hope to generate sales related to what I write about. I also started a Facebook page where I give ideas and can answer questions on technology questions. You can check that out if you are on Facebook. Look for the "Technology for Teachers" page. I know that you can make "fill-in-able" worksheets, but I haven't. I have the students in a lab setting and have them complete the worksheets as they look at the webpages. I am trying to get students to focus on how to find appropriate information on the internet and have a limited amount of time (30-60 minutes) for them to complete the worksheets that I make. Young students do not have the typing skills to type the answers to the questions quickly enough. Also, they may have difficulty flipping back and forth between a website and a "fill-in-able" worksheet. They may have a tendency to "X" out and lose all their work. Also, this feature might encourage "cut and paste" answers. Mary

I would like to know if you have done something for grades 3-5 and if so what? I would also like to know if your work is copyrighted? I saw something about copyrighting on this site before, but dont recall where it is. Also, do you have additional formatting activities for grades 2-3. Last, I like the pdf documents vs putting them in WORD, if you could, please tell me how to go about doing that.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have been a teacher for more than 25 years. During this time, I taught math and computers at the junior high level and computers at the elementary level. I also worked as a mentor teacher and technology coordinator where I trained teachers on using technology in their classrooms. MY TEACHING STYLE
For computers, I believe in teaching the students how to complete projects that are integrated within their classroom instruction. When I do assign students to play comnputer games, I choose games very carefully and always have a criteria for what they need to accomplish. When I teach math, I am very structured, but like to add in fun activities, games, and projects that get kids excited about math.

Computer Products: My computer worksheets use a variety of websites. Occasionally a website has changed and the link that I have provided does not exist anymore or the content has changed slightly. For example, when we elected Barack Obama for president, the White House website instantly changed. I use all these worksheets and update them when I notice a problem. However, I may miss some changes. If you purchase one of my products and find the website isn't correct, please leave me a message, and I will update the worksheet ASAP so that you can download it again. Math Products: I do my best to make a quality product, but do make errors.
