There actually is one, but I haven't updated it to the same graphics yet. That's on my to do list! But you could use a combination of the two. :)

Sorry you're having problems! This is from the TpT Help section and might help:

For Mac Users:
The default PDF application on a Mac is called Preview. This program is not compatible with newer PDF files. You must take these steps to open your PDF with Adobe Reader:

1. Highlight the PDF product icon with one click.

2. Go to "File" at the top of the screen.

3. Choose "Open with."

5. You may be prompted to make Adobe the default program when opening PDFs. This is a good idea so you won't have to repeat the steps above!

Donna,
I read your message about frames with backgrounds. I looked through my collection which I have been developing and just put a set of classic frames with backgrounds in my store. I love making frames with backgrounds and you will find mine to be different. I'll put more frames in my store soon. You also might like my premade task cards which I just put in my store too.

ocjess re: Math Chants-Vocabulary, Geometry, Odd/Even, Statistics, Number Lines
Do you have any monster cards higher than five? I am referring to the ones I just bought (which are awesome!!!!!)...Common Core Kindergarten Whole Number Operations. Please let me know I would like to continue with them using higher numbers. I loved the war/more than, less than, same as work. Rarely do I purchase something I can use ALL of....this product was perfect in every way! Please email me at ocjess@comcast.net....Thank you, Jessica

juju2 re: Common Core: Number Bond Flashcards (Part-Part-Whole)
Why do you put a number bond to 5 and one to 7 on the same page or are you just showing examples? I am wondering if your product shows number bonds in sequence or do you just show them randomly and with different totals on one page?
April 15, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Thanks for your question! It sounds like you are just looking at the thumbnail pictures on the product description page. I would highly recommend you download the Preview file. It contains 5 pages of teacher notes and examples of the actual cards.

juju2 re: Quick Flash: A Daily Routine for Building a System of Tens and Ones
Do you truly do this with kinders?
April 15, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
The grade band on the product is K-3, and it would probably lean more toward late 1st or 2nd. I think there are probably high kinders who could benefit from it.

juju2 re: Common Core: Number Sense/Early Numeracy Bundle
I like your products very much but am not quite clear on your teaching of the strategies that you offer. On the cards with number bonds I see that you show two ways to get to 4 so do you do that for other combinations as well, like other ways to get to 4? Also do you show other ways to get to 5 for example. I am just trying to get clear because at the bottom of your page I see one page examples as well. What I am wondering is do you show all the ways to get to a number.
April 15, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Yes, all the combinations for the numbers 1 to 10 are included. Again, I'd suggest you download the Preview files on any of my products you are interested in. I usually include all of my teacher notes in the preview files.
April 15, 2013

Linlin
I just purchased your early numeracy packet on sale & I'm wondering if your other products will be on sale soon. I love your work & there are many more products I'd love to purchase. Any plans for the rest to go on sale? Thanks
April 14, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Excited to hear that you're interested in my products! I don't put my store on sale very often outside of the big, site-wide TpT sales. When I run sales like the one going on right now, it's usually kind of a spur of the moment thing to highlight a certain group of products. And I never put any of the products priced \$2 and under on sale. I'm not sure when the next TpT sale will be. There's usually one for Teacher Appreciation (April or May?), but we never know very far in advance. I hope that helps!

Are these posters as well as activities?
April 7, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
No, Melissa, they are just number cards and a themed 120 chart. If you download the preview, you'll see the suggestions for how to use them in workstations. You can also purchase the workstation activity card set and use the number cards with that. Information about that is in the description.

I have purchased so many of your wonderful products and my first graders and I love them! Our next thing to learn is adding three numbers (up to 20). We do use the Common Core standards so we will need to add three numbers in word problems too. Would you consider creating something to help make this meaningful and fun?
Thank you so much for all you are creating!

HeidiSongs  (TpT Seller)
Hi,
I received a packet as part of a district handout in a staff development session that was given in March. The packet contained a product of yours called "Using Ten Frames To Build Understanding of Number Relationships."
As a fellow seller on TPT and on the web, I wanted to make sure that you gave permission to duplicate this and distribute it to all of the Kindergarten teachers in our district, which is Bonita Unified in La Verne and San Dimas, CA. I have been the victim of copyright infringement myself, and I was surprised to see that this was distributed. I would have asked this question of the people that passed it out myself, except that I wasn't there that day.
Thank you,
Heidi Butkus

What program are you using to make your games? I love them! Do you buy the clipart and borders or make them yourself? If so, what program? Thanks!
March 26, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Hey Catherine! Unlike many of the folks on TpT who use Power Point to create their products, I actually use Word. I buy all the clipart, borders, and backgrounds. No expertise creating those myself at all! Hope that helps!

jlpigott re: Common Core: Fishy Business, Composing and Decomposing Numbers to 10
I purchased CC Fishy Business and want to send it to our production center to color copy and laminate. I went to make additional copies of the Go Fish game cards
(since you need 4-5 copies for the game)and the actual 10 frame does not show up when I copy it. Is there a way to make the ten frame darker so when it is copied the students will see the 10 frame? Also, there are numbers on the 6, 9 and 10 card and not on any of the others. I would prefer it without any numbers. Is it possible this is an error? I am also wondering if the ten frames will show up on the spinners when they are copied, would it be possible to darken them as well?
Thank you for your great work and terrific blog.
March 23, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Thanks for contacting me about the problems with the cards! All the ten-frame cards were supposed to have numbers on them, and I've corrected that issue now. Unfortunately, the ten-frames that are not showing up for you are graphics in my file, so I can't darken them. Maybe you can work with you production center to darken the copies when they run them. So sorry I can't help more with it!

pamsneal
Yes, that helps. I guess I shouldn't have used the word "game"; I knew it was a teaching tool, and ways to show 5; I was just unsure as to what the squares were for on the printable (I hadn't seen squares AND the circles together like that) I do something very similar using all circles, and they have to use 2 different colors to show the ways to make a particular number. The monsters add that 'cute-sy' touch! Love them!
March 16, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Glad it's more clear! I think I was just feeling geometry-ish the day I made it. Ha ha.
March 16, 2013

pamsneal re: Common Core: Think-Addition for Subtraction, Combinations for 5
Hi, do you have the directions for this game/printable? I came across it, but wasn't sure what to do? Thanks.
March 16, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
It's not so much a game as a tool students could work with either in a small group with you or with a partner. A good way to use it would be with a 5-frame. A student takes a card, such as "3 and what makes 5?" On the 5-frame, the student would place counters on three spaces. Then, using a different color, they fill in the 2 spaces to make 5. They can record their work ("3 and 2 make 5") in a math journal or using the printable. Hope that helps!
March 16, 2013

wright2 re: Common Core: Capture 4 Combinations for 10 Strategy Games
The spinners do not print the 10 frames. Otherwise, everything prints well..On spinner B the 10 frame with 5 in it printed and the others, only parts printed. Same for spinner A. I am not a Mac user.
March 16, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
So sorry you're having trouble! The 'not a Mac user' is a stumper, because that's usually the problem. Did you try downloading it again? When you view the file does it look okay? If it's just not printing correctly, maybe it's a shortage of memory on your printer. Email me at mathcoachcorner@gmail.com and we'll try to get it straightened out!
March 16, 2013

juju2 re: Common Core: Fishy Business, Composing and Decomposing Numbers to 10
You might want to check your instructions---you wrote true of false and I think you meant true or false. Also in your spinners, it shows the number 6 upside down and I think it should be the other way so as to not confuse young learners. Otherwise I like your work very much and hope these suggestions make sense!
March 10, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Thanks for catching the "of"/"or" mistake! That's one of my most popular typos. Ha ha. As for the spinners, the 6's are oriented the same as the other numbers on the spinners, so I don't really understand your comment. Could you email me at mathcoachcorner@gmail.com and give me more information? Thanks!!

Hi there: I downloaded your Exploring Doubles package but have a question about the game "Seeing Doubles" I think I am likely not understanding something but you said in the directions to use only one marker (between two students?) and that they use one dice but if Player 1 dices and gets six and counts from START he ends up on Player 1 and this doesn't make sense so I feel I am missing something. If he gets 6 does he go to 6 plus 6 and how can they share a game marker? I appreciate you answering my question. Mary Anne
February 9, 2013
Math Coach's Corner  (TpT Seller)
Sorry for the confusion, Mary Anne! They use the same marker because they are going in different directions. So if I'm Player 1 and roll a 3, I move 3 spaces to the left. Player 2 rolls, say he gets a 4, and he moves the same piece 4 spaces to the right. It's kind of like tug-of-war. But you're right, if a player rolls a 6 on the first roll, they would end up on their home space and win. One suggestion would be to put small white sticky dots on the 4, 5, and 6 of the dice and write in 1, 2, and 3. That way, 1, 2, and 3 would be the only numbers they could roll.

Hi Donna,
The packet looks awesome! I was going through it and noticed on page 25 there is a slight mistake with the 60-40 rods picture... The red circle is around 2 rods, not the 4 rods as the equation states. Just a "heads up". Sorry to post here, but didn't remember how to get in touch with you in another fashion. :) Can't wait to use it in my room! Thanks for all your hard work! Catherine

Please take a look at the last card "Show What You Know-Fraction Twins." It shows 2/3 and 4/6 as being closer to 1. Shouldn't they be closer to 1/2?

Thanks,
Lori Leonard

You are absolutely right! I'm changing it now and doing a few other cosmetic things. Thanks for finding that!

Just wanted to send you a note. This is a great file but one of my kids found an error. One of the cards, on page 11, reads 59 and the picture shows 59 but the expanded notation reads 9 tens and ____ ones. Thanks for all the fantastic materials. B. Bowman

Sorry you're having trouble! I'm happy to send the file. For future reference, are you a Mac user? This is from the TpT Help section and it might be the cause of your problem:

The PDF I downloaded is showing black smudges, what do I do?

If you are on a Mac, do not open with Preview. It will not work. Download the most updated version of Adobe Reader and open the PDF with it (and not Preview). To 'open with' adobe reader on a mac, highlight the product pdf icon with one click, go to 'file' at the top of the screen, choose 'open with' then select 'adobe' and you'll be all set.

Love this activity but it looks like there's an error on page 27. The beginning number is 24 and it is written that the following 5 numbers are 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. Can you fix this and repost? Thanks : )

In your school district are you using Cscope or Common Core or Both? I was just wondering.

Hey Sherri! We use neither, actually. Our curriculum is based on the TEKS. As we transition to the newly adopted TEKS, there are more and more connections to Common Core.

Hi Donna,
I purchased your fractions unit with the number line and I'm really excited to start using it with my 2nd graders. I do have a question about a fraction like 2/8. On the number line there are 4 sections between the 0 and 1/2. Two are shaded. Would that be closer to 0 or closer to 1/2? I think the kids might be confused because it is equally close to the 0 and the 1/2. I just want to teach it the correct way the 1st time. :-)) I just love your math blog by the way and have shared it very enthusiastically with my whole team!

Hey Debbie! Glad you like the fraction unit and my blog. I think 2/8 opens up a very good conversation--like you said, it's the same distance from 0 as it is from 1/2. It's right in the middle! For me, I would use that for a problem solving extension. After they do several that are clearly closer to 0, 1/2, and 1, I would then show them 2/8. "Hum. What about this one?" I think it would be awesome to hear their conversations.

csorrells re: Coin Identification and Value Activity Cards with Ten-Frames
Hi,
I have previewed and downloaded your place value "Who Has" game and the Money cards with ten frames. As a district coordinator I would like to use these in my (password protected) curriculum with a note telling the teachers where they can find more activities like those. Would that be alright?

I'm honored! You are certainly welcome to use my free products in your curriculum. I hope you'll include a link to my blog, because they can get lots of free activities there as well.

Did you know that on your initial unknown thumbnail that there is a typo? It says one instead of on the pond. At least that is what is showing up on my screen.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience! I know they are having heavy traffic right now and are suggesting that customers try downloading their products a little later when it slows down. If you still can't download it, I think the best thing to do is contact TpT support. They are awesome, and I'm sure they'll get it working for you! If you don't get it resolved, please email me at mathcoachcorner@gmail.com. Thanks!

Do you have common formative assessment activities to use at the beginning and ending of math units for 2nd grade?

I'm sorry, but I can't help you with that one. My teachers actually create their own assessments. As a coach, I'm involved with their planning process, so I help guide them.

Are your products aligned to Common Core or to the TEKS? I'm also a math instructional coach in Texas and want to download several of your products, but I just want to make sure they are aligned to the TEKS :) Thanks so much!

You will see the Common Core standards referenced, but they are also aligned with the TEKs. More so the revised TEKS going into effect next year, which mirror the Common Core Standards. My teachers use all of my products!

Many of the pages in the product have blurred numbers or writing. Is there a way to fix this? I'm looking forward to using this, and other products, provided this problem can be resolved. Thanks!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My 16 years of classroom experience in grades 2-5 prepared me for my current role as a K-5 Math Instructional Coach.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Having taught grades 3-5 for most of my career, primary (K-2) math is now a passion. I look for ways to prevent the gaps I saw in my 3-5 students. I try to create activities and resources that are engaging, but contain sound math. Multiple representations and activities that follow the CRA (concrete-->representational-->abstract) sequence of instruction are my specialty. I also try to make products that are easy for teachers to put together and implement in their classrooms.
