I have been teaching now for 8 years. I have taught reading, MCAS prep, and now I'm strictly ELA for 8th grade. My certification is ELA 8-12 in Massachusetts. I have a Masters in ELA and Teaching. I have taught all levels from special ed inclusion to the gifted and talented.
I would say that I like to take a creative approach to teaching. I try to incorporate many different multiple intelligences and learning styles when devising lesson plans. I use graphic organizers often and powerpoint almost everyday. I try to make a personal connection with my students so they want to come to my class and learn everyday.
Most of my awards have been for perfect attendance at work. I did receive a state award for a short story I wrote, but I'm not sure if that's the kind of awards they're talking about here.
