I've never taught 6th grade, so you'd know best, but I think it would definitely work (or could be modified) to fit your classes. I've used it with great success with 8th through 10th graders.

Hello, I have a question for you that may be out of the realm of possibility, but here goes: My daughter just finished her response to literature paper for Tuck Everlasting, and I would like to know if you would be willing to read it and comment before she revises? If yes, what would you charge for this service? I am homeschooling my daughter through, Visions in Education, and any outside help I could get would be great!
Thank you!

Thank you, and thank you for your interest in my products!

I do have a memoir/autobiographical narrative unit posted. It is not as large as the response to literature unit due to the fact that this writing is more personal. The link is here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Student-Memoir-Project-Autobiographical-Narrative

Hope you enjoy!

Hello,
I purchased your response to literature packet yesterday, and I am looking forward to using it with my daughter. Do you have a similar packet on persuasive writing? I am homeschooling my daughters, 7th and 5th, and I have certainly been humbled by this excruciating task of teaching writing!
Thank you,

Great! I'm so glad that you can use my materials! I do have some persuasive writing resources at school that I'd be happy to put up for you. I'll be back next week, as I am recovering from a car accident, but I'll list them right away. Please feel free to check my store, however, as I do have some individual pieces listed.

Thanks again!

I need English /Literature teachers to answer writing prompts for the The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. These prompts must be a page and a half to two pages typed with a solid thesis, organization of ideas, transtitions between paragraphs, sentences, and ideas,NO first person and a great conclusion to wrap ideas and any final thoughts. I want my students to read how different writers view writing promts along with good pieces of writing. Are you interested?

Hi! I liked this ppt, but it did leave me a little confused at first when you added the color - your numbering went sequentially from one to two, but it threw me for a loop at first when the third color started with number one again. All in all, though, I found it useful and plan on using it in class this year. Thank you for sharing.

Hello,

Thank you so much for the books I bought. I am curious to what other books you are selling. I need books that really hold my students attention. You did include a note with the books but I have misplaced it. I have gone onto your store but cannot seem to locate other books you have to sell. I teach 7th grade in an inner-city so keeping their attention is a task. I am going to start literature circles with them very soon but need books first!

Thank you so much.

Hi, I'm glad that the books got there! I am selling the following literature circle packs: "Hero" by SL Rottman, "Miracles Boys" by Jacqueline Woodson, and "Touching Spirit Bear" by Ben Mikaelsen. All of the protagonists in these novels, like in "Silent to the Bone" are teenagers going through a struggle. They deal with issues of abuse, crime, family, and grief. I have had great success using all of the books. Here is a link again to my teacher store where they are listed with much more detailed descriptions(I fixed the problem): http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Melissa-Soeltz

Also, please take a moment to leave me some feedback from your other purchase. And good luck with the literature circle! They are one of my favorite class activities (I also have some Lit Circle Resources listed, too). Thanks, Melissa

Judy Hill  (TpT Seller) re: PowerPoint-Intro to To Kill a Mockingbird:Social, Historical Context
Melissa, you did a great job on the To Kill a Mockingbird power point, but I wanted you to know that your free preview allows anyone to access your entire power point free. I'm not sure if you were aware of that. Just make a separate file with 4 or 5 slides for the preview. I hate for you not to get paid for all the good work you did.

Although the file is on my school computer, I remember approximately 12-13 slides. The presentation takes about 30 minutes to go through, and then I usually spend the rest of the class period reading a children's book and having the students make inferences about the characters.
