Kathleen A. re: Tracker - Student Behavior
Can I edit this after purchase?
June 29, 2013
Yes it is editable. There are several blank spaces to add behaviors you feel you come across more often. If you have any problems feel free to contact me via email at middleschoolmath360@gmail.com.

Cynthia DeNardo  (TpT Seller) re: Word/Story Problems Strategy Foldable Activity
The file won't open - it says there's an error. Is there anything you can do to fix it?
January 19, 2013
It is a Microsoft Word file. Do you have Word on the computer you are trying to open it on? You may want to try opening it on a different computer. That is the only thing I can think of because I went to the site and downloaded the file before sending this email. I hope this helps.

Marvin S. re: Sales Ad - Percent
How many total pages are included in the packet? What are the other pages content?
January 16, 2013
It is a one page. With 2 student rubrics on the one page. If you read my 3rdthe comment below it gives several ideas on how to use the product; as well as the success I have had with the product. I hope I answered your questions.

I am sorry you are disappointed. You keep referring to a free download. I setup the doc as a preview so you see what you are getting. The description does say you are getting a rubric which is a guide for students.
As a seller on TpT I do not know how to issue refunds since TpT adminsters our payments. However, I will do a due diligence and see how you can go about getting a refund. Please email me your email address so that I can keep you posted that way. Middleschoolmath360@gmail.com

I ordered this and the only thing to download was the same page that was free...is there more??
December 27, 2012
I am sorry if there has been a misunderstanding. However, for \$4.95 you receive the rubric, which should be given to students so that they can complete the activity. All parts should be completed so as to guage there understanding.

May I ask what else you thought was included? What is the misconception within the synopsis?
December 27, 2012

The free preview shows the rubric...what else do you get for the 4.95 payment?
December 27, 2012
For \$4.95 you receive a rubric/student activity, which thoroughly outlines what students need to know regarding percents. My suggestion is that this assignment is given to students after you have covered percent of a number, proportions, taking a percent from a number. This allows you a chance to gauge how much of the material student understood. I have used this activity for several years and I am able to clear up a lot of misconceptions with this activity and many of my students have aha moments. It really cements the idea of discounting items, adding sales tax and taking percents off.

One year I brought in Best Buy sales ad and I had students cut out items for their sales ad from the sales ad. This method worked good for my not so imaginative students. However, I have had some good discussions when I have student make up prices for items in their stores. Sometimes they set high prices and we discuss whether the set price is a reasonable price. I think I enjoy this activity as much as the students.

I hope this helped you!!

Rodney C. re: Interactive Notebook Guide
I bought this with the believe that it would be helpful.... but truly there are only 5 pages? Two of which are a blank table of contents? I truly have buyers remorse. Is there more??? Please let me know before, I rate this product.
September 16, 2012
Yes all of the pages have something on them. I have not heard that happening before with that file. My suggestion is if you have another computer to try opening it up on that one, to see if the version of Word on your 1st computer was just not compatible. If this does not work please email me at middleschoolmath360@gmail.com and I willl email you the Interactive file I have saved.
In the mean time I will check the one on TpT to see what is going on.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I taught in the middle school arena for many, many years. I have taught 6th math, as well as 6th and 7th grade math intervention classes. I currently teach 5th grade math. However, I know very well the struggles of middle school teachers to find activities geared toward middle school students. That is why I will continue to update my Middle School Math Activities store with helpful, engaging activities for middle school students. Despite all the challenges of being a teacher, I can honestly say there is not another occupation I would want to do. When I see one of my student’s face light up from an “aha moment”, it makes my job well worth the time and energy I devote to it.

MY TEACHING STYLE

If I was asked to define my teaching style, I would have to say, “I do what works best at reaching my students’ minds, and increasing their retention of what they’ve learned.” I believe adaptation is a must, as a teacher. It is because of this philosophy, which I am constantly researching and studying in an effort to meet the needs of my students. I am ever evolving, as I learn new teaching methods. I am proficient in creating documents. In fact, I custom create most of my class activities; such as presentations, worksheets and tests. I have found that my students understand and excel using my custom made tools and learning aids versus "big company" made items. To that end, I am excited to share some of the things that I use in my class with you, through the arena of TeachersPayTeachers.com. I hope that the tools and learning aids I’ve developed bring you some of the same, documented success I have had. If ever you have questions about a product, please email me at, info@MiddleSchoolMathActivities.com.
