A wonderful activity for French classes! I love how thorough it is and especially like that there is a game component as well.
However, the answer key should be updated to reflect the new French president. Additionally, the answer key states that students begin learning a second language at age 9. When I taught English in France, they began foreign language classes at age 6.

Thanks for the reminder on the President. I will update that. I'm guessing it depends on regions as to when students begin study of a foreign language. I know that schooling itself is compulsive as of age 6, but most of the time I assign this, I allow my students to use CultureGrams to complete the activity as I mentioned in my instructions. The most updated CultureGram on France states that foreign language education begins at nine. I'll leave the answer key at 9 for right now, but that's probably one where your mileage may vary. Thanks!

I'm glad you were able to get it to work in Keynote. I primarily use a PC in my classroom. I looked at making it work in Keynote, but Keynote doesn't allow for custom animation triggers and that is the magic of making the squares disappear in the order the students select them to reveal the scores.
In regards to the instructions, they are part of the PowerPoint. Slide 2 gives teacher instructions and slide 3 is game rules. Those slides are hidden by default so they don't show up when playing the game. I noticed that Keynote doesn't show the hidden slides as easily as PowerPoint does, but you could unhide them so they are part of the slideshow. I just opened the game in Keynote and did see the hidden slides. When I clicked on them, the text appeared.
I appreciate the feedback. If Keynote ever allows for trigger based animations, I would be happy to make a a Keynote version.

Arrggh . . . I have Mac PowerPoint 2011 on one of my machines and everything was working fine. I did some research and found out that the methods I use to create the animations (wheel spinning, etc.) do not work on Mac Office 2008 ... so it appears there is nothing you can do to get it to work. So sorry about that. I am happy to see if TpT will issue you a refund if you would like. I would offer other products, but most of my review games use that kind of animation. I will try to add that to my other product descriptions that Mac PowerPoint 2011 or later is required.

Are you on a PC or a Mac? It will not work on Keynote, but it should work on a Mac if you are using PowerPoint, but you may have to change it out of presenter's mode. If on a PC, let me know what version of PowerPoint you are using.

Hi! I am new to TpT and it's amazing! I am almost ready to retire, therefore not very adept at technology. Our classrooms all have Smartboards now and I am learning to use them. Do I use this game on a computer (powerpoint) and then it will be displayed on the Smartboard? Thanks!

Yes. That would be a perfect use of the game. In rooms without smart boards, I just have a student run the game and reveal the point values while the game is projected on the screen, but with a smart board more kids could reveal the scores.

It looks like you might have found your answer already, but if not, the best resource I have in my state is CultureGrams. Our State Office of Education has purchased rights for our entire state to use it for free. It has answer for most (but not all) of the questions and students can try to find the others on their own. I usually have to provide a few of the answers for them.
