My son loved Battle of the Books. It really tapped into the competitiveness of all students...but especially my fourth-grade BOY! With the incentive of winning the Battle, he read all the books carefully. Writing questions was especially helpful; it forced him to go back and reread to write "tricky" ones.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am currently teaching 4th grade in California. I have a Masters in Education, a Multiple Subject Credential and have recently earned Secondary Credentials in both Math and Science. In 2009 I received the great honor of Teacher of the Year. Over the years I have been blessed to participate in outstanding professional developments- historical trips through the 13 colonies, marine biology explorations off the coast of Kenya, and teaching English abroad in India. I have been given the chance to pilot new materials, start exciting new programs, and have taught grades 2nd through 7th.
