I have teaching experience in third grade and this is my first year teaching kindergarten! Each day has a new learning experience for me as I transition and learn how to incorporate my social work background in working with kiddos as a teacher. I'm committed to what I do and what I do is never done. I'm always changing and adapting to experiences, student needs and your needs! I want to create high quality products that engage and motivate children through imagination! Thank you for Splashing on through!
We feel that what we are doing is like a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less without that drop ~ Mother Teresa I believe classrooms are like the puddles that make up the ocean; each individual drop is a student. Growing together we aspire to make an impact and find our place in the world. I believe meaningful learning cannot take place until positive relationships are built, fostered and encouraged. The longer I'm in the classroom, the more I believe teaching is a social field that extends beyond the realm of academics. In this way, I hope to create and share culturally sensitive materials that meet students where they are in the learning process through differentiation and providing a framework that engages and pushes students to strive for excellence. These skills include, but are not limited to collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving skills aligned with the constructivist approach. Please also keep in mind that these materials are created, but still must be adapted to fit your classroom needs. One size does not fit all!

I love to write! I write articles under an alias for Livestrong Fitness, Nutrition and Parenting. I'm also a writer for The Bump, Ehow, Ehow Business and Finance, Ehow Fitness-related articles and other sites writing about culture. In addition to writing technical articles, I love to write stories, which you will continue to find throughout my teaching materials! I'm passionate about cultural sensitivity - ethnically, geographically and economically. All the artwork, unless otherwise stated, is drawn and created by me as well. I also love to sew and am a photographer---need lots of hobbies to keep me interested!
