Hi there krayray! These files come in a zip file. Have you unzipped the file? Once it is unzipped you should just be able to click on insert, picture and find the picture files wherever you saved them (when in Word or PowerPoint). Hi Brett! These activities really focus on the early skills of representing multiplication, not 'drill' practice. The games work on arrays, using the symbol 'x', repeated addition, making groups, etc. If you think your students need more revision of these skills, this packet will be fine for you. Most of the games should work for up to 5x5. Some activities you could easily make additional cards for.

I purposely did not include an answer sheet as the questions, and therefore responses, vary. Some questions are 'right there' in the text, which I could provide answers to. Others, however, are 'in your head' where the children give their own personal opinion. I cannot provide an answer to these.
I've also found that different classes and students make different inferences and therefore different answers to the questions. I am hesitant to provide an answer sheet for this packet as I do not want others to think that they are 'the' only answers.

They roll the dice and place that number of fish in EACH bowl. The multiplication sentence is number of bowls x number of fish in each bowl and is simply a way of reinforcing the use of the 'x' symbol. This is an activity for early multiplication skills so some may simply do repeated addition to find how many there are altogether. Putting it simply, yes. They will already know how many altogether before they do the sum. I wanted my students to revise writing the multiplication sentence using the symbol.

Hi Reba! Unfortunately, I think it is inevitable. I'm yet to find a way around it or a printer that will do it. There's a chance it might print to the edge if you adjust and play with the settings but I have not yet been successful. I just trim the white edge of most of the time. Thanks!

Hi Lisa! I, personally, use PowerPoint and insert the image as a background. You can then insert a text box and type whatever you need over the top of it.
If you use Word, insert the picture to make the border. You can then click 'insert' and 'text box' to type text in the middle.

If you use Word, insert the picture to make the border. You can then click 'insert' and 'text box' to type text in the middle.

Hi Shellabelle81! Not a silly question at all! I personally use PowerPoint and insert the image as a background. You can then insert a text box and type whatever you need.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
This is my fourth year of teaching and I feel so lucky to have a job that I am passionate about and love. I taught grade 1 for two years and this is my second year in grade 2. Everyday I learn new things and am enjoying teaching more and more each year!
