TEACHING EXPERIENCE
After completing a semester as a fourth grade intern, I was lucky to land a job across the hall in third grade for the rest of the year. I'm a new teacher with a creative, "outside" of the box, collaborative approach.
MY TEACHING STYLE
In my very white collar district, I am a noted "hippy teacher". A term that I wasn't too sure about at first but have decided to embrace it. If being a hippy teacher means letting students make choices about how they will demonstrate their understanding, creating real life learning experiences for students to discover concepts themselves, and for integrating movement daily - I guess I will take and be proud of the label. :)
