I just purchased this set, but Domain 3 is not included in it. It has the other Domains, but not 3. Thanks!

Hi,
Domain 3 is your actual teaching skills that your evaluator observes. You evaluator should make a list of objective facts while they are observing your teaching. There's really no paperwork you can put in because it must be observed.

I don't need an answer. Just wanted you to know that I absolutely do not purchase anything on TpT that doesn't include an answer key. Your Geometry Exam looked good but I passed it by.

I find it is good for me as a teacher to work the problems out myself and make my own answer key. First I can find any mistakes and second I can prepare for common errors my students will make or questions they may have. Especially when using something I didn't create. I have more recently started to include answer keys in things I post, so thank you for your comment.

John H J. re: Tin Man Surface Area Project for Geometry
I am using the Tin Man Surface Area project and am having a hard time knowing how to explain why the surface area calculations have to be divided by the width of the roll of aluminum foil (18 inches in my case). Can you help with that?

Thanks,
J Judge

They come up with a large number for their area but area is units squared. So we can't just measure the longgggg length they find and cut a piece they long. We are dividing it by the width of the foil because it's length times width (area of a rectangle) because the foil is rectangular.

Do your students also take the end of course assessments written by Quality Core? Have you found a text/resources that supports the rigor required by Quality Core/Common Core?
June 26, 2013 Report inappropriate comment

misscalcul8  (TpT Seller)
No. Our school paid for Quality Core mainly for the question bank- which was terrible. Barely any questions. I'm not a fan of any textbook series until something truly Common Core shows up.

I teach in TN and we have an EOC too. (I just wanted to make sure that is what it stood for on your guide too. What state are you in? I am interested in how much it responds to the TN EOC.

When you play it in the slideshow the answers are not shown. It is opened with powerpoint. Click on slideshow at the top and then From Beginning. The answers will not be shown during the slideshow, only when you have first opened the file.

Click on the orange circle around the 12, not the 12.
At the top, click the Insert tab.
Then click hyperlink (the one with the globe).
Click the radio button next to 'Hyperlink to:'
From the dropdown menu select 'Last Slide'.
Click ok.

Are the problem numbers random, or are higher numbered problems more difficult?

They are random in order to include word problems and consistent/inconsistent systems. If you go down the powerpoint they are numbered in order.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my third year of teaching. So far I have taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 1 Lab, Algebra II, Geometry Lab, and ACT Test Prep. I am also on my school's literacy team, the Student Council sponsor, and the department head.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is evolving to focus on team work where each team member has a role and lessons where students work as a team through a scaffolded investigation to discover new concepts on their own, as opposed to lecture. I try to balance between discovery and direct instruction. My main focus has been to try more activities that have students active in the classroom as well as creating activities that are self-checking by nature. In the future, I am planning to flip the classroom so that students receive new learning through student created tutorials and class time is spent practicing and applying new concepts.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from a very small high school and went on to a small community college. From there I transferred to a large university. Previously I had been a top student but when I began university math classes I struggled. That experience helped shape the way that I want to reach and teach my students and also the reason why I am teaching at my alma mater high school.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have just completed a Master's degree program cohort with my colleagues. I'm starting my fifth year of teaching and I'm buying my first home!
