I have taught grades 9-11 at the school level for 13 years, specializing in reading strategies, HSPE prep, literary analysis and persuasive writing, educational technology and literature.
I like to run a very organized, standards-based classroom where students know what is expected of them and how to accomplish it. Emphasis is on preparing students for higher level English classes, life beyond high school and standardized tests such as the HSPE.
I am English Department Co-Chair, have been nominated a Who's Who Teacher twice, have been an Intel Teach to the Future instructor, a Critical Friends Coach, and a Peer Mentor.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Washington.
I am the proud mother of a teenager, avid boot camper, and I enjoy reading, crafts, and gardening.
