My 6th grade students recently finished a probability unit, and I was looking for something engaging that would allow them to demonstrate their understanding while also having fun. Hi, I bought your lesson plan and it looks awesome. I'm planning to use it tomorrow as we're having a Hunger Games/Catching Fire performance from our middle school dancers and we have various stations set up for kids to rotate between; mine being probability. Maybe I'm missing a huge piece of this, but what are the kids supposed to set as the denominator when calculating their odds? Won't we need to know the number of entries per District since they are choosing where to come from? How did you handle this? Thank you. Shane

I'm currently typing this from my phone so I apologize if there are any typos. Last year I had my students all pick a district then we used those values for their denominator. You could also have made up numbers too. With doing this tomorrow it may be most effective to just pick your own, good luck I hope it goes well! Scott

I have just purchased your Hunger Games activity, but there do not appear to be any directions for the teacher, and while most of the activities seem self explanatory, I don't not understand how students would complete the section labeled "The Odds of the Reaping."
