My name is Aaron Yokers, and I teach ESL at Tirana Int. School, in Tirana, AL. I love using games for helping ESL students and I recently bought the A to A Junior ed., and while on TpT I saw your product listed. I viewed the "Download Preview" and really appreciate how you were finding ways to apply the game in an educational manner. I was wondering, though I know you couldn't give me too many more specifics, whether you could write me and explain more what the download consists of so I could see if that would be useful in my classroom. I am willing to pay the cost (it's really not much), but I want to get more of an idea of what's included so I could judge whether to go ahead and buy it or not. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your interest! This file is a list of variations I came up with to play Apples to Apples with the whole classroom, instead of just small groups. I have had success using this with second and third graders to build vocabulary.

I just listed a new type of Sight Word PowerPoint for Kindergarten and First Grade. It is listed under First 50 Sight Words PowerPoint. It includes the words in isolation and within the context of sentences with picture support. I wondered if you might consider taking a look at the free 4 slide preview to see if it might be something you could use. Thanks! Anne Gardner

This is not a question, just something I want to share with you.
I took this contest to my school and 3 classes of 2nd graders participated in the contest. I invited my superintendent and assistant superintendent to participate as judges.
When I opened the superintendents weekly update, I was surprised to read the following:
--This has been a fantastic week. On Monday I was able to participate in judging some entrants in a “Green Eggs and Slam†literacy project contest organized by Ms. Cash at Nelson Wilkes Herron. It was exciting to witness some of Marzano’s recognized instructional strategies known to be successful according to the research. These kids had nonlinguistic representations of their literacy work as they drew pictures to represent the content of the books. This contest was also a great way to reinforce the students’ effort and provide recognition to them, also research based practices. As I stated in my article today, we have so many successful efforts in engaging students and making their learning exciting. This is just one example of many that could be mentioned. I appreciated the invitation to participate.---

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
This is my 14th year of teaching. I taught kindergarten for several years, and for the past few years I have been teaching reading for second and third grade. I have always loved children's literature, from picture books to chapter books to young adult, and my love of reading is one of the main reasons I became a teacher. I have worked with students up to fifth grade in after-school tutoring and enrichment programs, and I worked with seventh and eighth graders as a volleyball coach.
MY TEACHING STYLE
Learning should be fun! I believe that the more students are engaged and interested in what they are learning, the more real and permanent their learning will be.
