I can change the font to something you have on your computer or I can send you a link to download the font for free onto your computer. (It is Jester) Let me know what works best for you. I have just started teaching third grade and am trying to find center resources that I can print and prepare for my students. I taught second grade last year and spent the entire year printing, laminating and filing all of my activities only to find out that I'm moving to third grade. I noticed that you have created many center items, but I don't see them on your TPT store. Can you tell me if you have had luck finding good resources? I printed all most of my resources last year from "Swimming in second." She had center activities for every story in the unit. Please let me know if you can guide me in the right direction.

When I had this problem before I downloaded the most recent version of Adobe Reader, downloaded the file, then opened the PDF (not the preview) and then was able to see it. I would be happy to send you the new file, but I'm not sure it will make a difference unless you update the Adobe. Let me know what you find out. I'll email you the file now.

Hi Lorri... No problem. It's hard to explain in writing. Only two kids get paired up together (unless there is an odd number). You do this while you are having them pic their partners. Slowly go through each number. Each student stands beside one person that will be their 3 partner. They write each others names on that number. I will call out, "Who doesn't have a partner for number 3?" Whoever is left is partners together. Last year I had one little girl that didn't actively go around and find partners so for every number I placed her with someone new. The key to it is taking a couple extra minutes to carefully have the kiddos pick their partners. Let me know if this makes sense. :)

No problem at all....I too have that summer brain. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that school will be here very soon!
I only put 10 places on there to avoid confusion when assigning partners. (I have done it in the past where there is a blank for everyone, but it's a mess to try to sort out ...so I avoid it.) Anyway, what I do whenever we are picking pals is I have all the kids go find the cell pal for a certain number. So for example, "Find a cell pal for number four". When they find their friend they exchange names. They will have each other's name on the same number. I go through this the same way but assign the last person that doesn't have a partner to a group.

No problem at all....I too have that summer brain. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that school will be here very soon!
I only put 10 places on there to avoid confusion when assigning partners. (I have done it in the past where there is a blank for everyone, but it's a mess to try to sort out ...so I avoid it.) Anyway, what I do whenever we are picking pals is I have all the kids go find the cell pal for a certain number. So for example, "Find a cell pal for number four". When they find their friend they exchange names. They will have each other's name on the same number. Hello. I am SO SORRY that I never responded to this message. I just saw it now. I had a baby in April. He ended up having open heart surgery so we spent quite some time in the hospital.
As far as the immigration unit goes, I usually taught teach lesson for about 20-25 minutes. The unit lasted about 1 1/2-2 weeks depending on how thorough you are and how deep you go with each of the lessons. I hope this helps. Please email me if you have any further questions. The Camp Measurement Unit does not incorporate measuring tools. It is more geared towards units of measurement. Great idea for the measurement fair though!
