Our system has been using scott foresman reading streets and this coming school year we will continue with the same company but some of the stories have changed in the units. Are the roll and read from the old or new editions? They look wonderful. I'm always looking for ways to keep my students engaged. This will be my last year to teach after 34 four years. You young ones keep me going with your creative ideas. Keep up the good work.

The roll and reads are not for the common core (most recent) version of Reading Street. There are a few stories that are different between my version and the common core version (3-4 stories I think).

I really like this font. When I bold the Typed Up! font in Word and save to a PDF, it will not display or print in bold in the PDF file. I believe this is because there is not a bold version of the font available to be installed on the computer. For whatever reason, italic works, even though there is no italic version. Since Typed Up! is not a standard font in Adobe, it has to embed it and it simply won't display properly. It seems to work with CutePDF Writer, but the file size changes to 10X the size and I am trying to keep file sizes as small as possible. By any chance, would you happen to have this font in bold so that when I do save to a PDF, it will display that way. Or, if you have another fix, I am open to suggestions.

I wanted to print out the sheet you had in the preview mode of all the mini colored owls for my students to cut out. When I downloaded this, it opens in a media viewer and I can't do anything with the clip art like trying to cut and paste the owl borders to word to create a page of owls. Any tips?

The preview picture is an image to show what the graphics look like. It is for preview purposes only. You will need to insert the owls you wish to use into Word or some other software to create a sheet if owls to print out. Keep in mind you will need to adjust the size of the graphics. They are large and high quality. If you wish to use them in a smaller size you can resize. In word this is done by dragging the sides of the image inward to shrink it.

It is a problem with your computer, not the file. Look at the bottom right corner of your screen. If you are using word, you should see a percentage. It sounds like your percentage is set too low. Set it to 100% to see the full sized file. This is an issue with your Word file setup.

I would purchase the entire pizza packet however, the smartboard lesson will not work considering my classroom has a dualboard. Make sure you are opening the file in Adobe and not Preview in your Mac. If you open it in Adobe PDF and you still are seeing nothing then email me at ashleymagee@firstgradebrain.com because what you describe is not normal and hasn't happened for anyone else!

I have an older version of Reading Street, so I do not have access to those two stories in my version. Last time I checked, I thought the two stories you mentioned followed the same phonics skills that the older version had for the two older stories so the activities should work for you but would have a different story title at the top.

Hello, I did a Monkey theme last year and a Bee theme this year. I ordered several of your items for both of those themes as well some of your Reading Street materials. I would also LOVE a binder Spine insert with the bee theme as well. My other request is...my coworker is doing a bird theme "Welcome to our Nest" (not owls) Would you possibly be able to create the Classroom forms and Sub information as well as a Back to School power point presentation in a Bird theme? I know it is a busy time so very understandable if it is not possible. Thanks so much!!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I've been teaching for seven years. I taught in a 2nd and 3rd grade multiage class for one year. I ran our school computer lab and taught technology lessons to all students in K-5 for two years. The 2013-2014 school year will be my sixth year teaching first grade, and love it!
MY TEACHING STYLE
I am not the teacher who makes students sit in silent rows while working in a workbook all day. I like fun, color, music, movement, and hands-on activities that make school special and exciting for my students.

I graduated from Murray State University in 2005 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-6). I graduated in 2012 with my Master's in Teacher Leadership with an Endorsement in Educational Technology and an Endorsement in Teacher Leadership.
