mscollins678 re: The Giver Unit Plan
Are the lesson plans for The Giver aligned with Common Core?

The unit easy aligns with several grades for the English Language Arts Common Core Standards- most easily fitting in the Key Ideas and Details areas and some Craft and Structure areas. For example: "CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.6.3, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.8.2 aligns perfectly with lesson 5, whereas CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.7.4 aligns perfectly with the vocabulary lessons. The daily questions align to a mass amount of standards within the common core. Let me know if you have any other questions! I am happy to answer them!

We downloaded the NWEA Math Areas to work on scoring between 121-200. We also use the NWEA testing. Did you create anything similar with the Reading scores of NWEA? Or if not, how did you find the information to create the math one, we would like to create something for parents so they have both subject areas, not just math. Thanks!!

Ashley Johnson re: Discipline Without Stress, Punishments, or Rewards Class Handouts & Class Books
Good Morning!
I use this philosophy in my classroom, and I love your organized way of teaching the material! Can you make coordinating signs for classroom display? For example: "What's Your Level?" and graphics to show each level? (Like the ones you have for the class books, but do not say "Class Book?") I would love to purchase them if you are interested in making them.
Thanks,
Ashley

I do have posters for each level that have the level, description, and pictures on them. You can check them out here- http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Discipline-Without-Stress-Punishments-or-Rewards-Posters

This is a very hard file to print. Have you had others say this? I even tried printing one page at a time but it takes forever to get to the printer. I haven't had any other trouble with purchasing on TPT..wondering if it's because of the complexity of pictures. Any recommendations? Thanks! It is adorable and would love to use it.

HI,

Do I need to read Marshall's book in order to understand your packet?
Thanks,
Janet

I would think not, but you would need to know about the levels. I really made it to help you teach and implement the levels in your classroom. If you plan on using the levels in your classroom, it's a great buy. If you don't plan on using the levels, it might not be very helpful to you. I hope this answered your question! Let me know if you have further questions about the packet or about the levels- I am more than happy answer them or to help!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm currently teaching first grade and I LOVE it. I've also taught 7th, 2nd, 5th, and 6th. I have put my most memorable lessons from the grades that I have taught.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love creating hands on, fun, visual, and interactive lessons that not only engage my students, but create an even deeper love for learning.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have been honored to be able to teach a wide array of areas, grades, demographics, and ability levels. From my first year teaching 90% English Learners to the following year having 70% of my students on an IEP, and now teaching a predominately Gifted population, has given me an incredible understanding of how to try to best reach every student. I love supporting and challenging all learners to their fullest ability.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I hope next year to go for National Board Certification, as I will be eligible after completing year three of teaching,

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Outside of teaching, I love soccer, camping, hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with my wonderful and supportive husband.

GRADES TAUGHT
