I downloaded this free rubric and bought your expository and persuasive rubrics as well. However, after downloading them I noticed this free download is the same as the expository rubric, except with an extra column for zero. Could I please get the narrative rubric?

I really enjoy your ideas for CCSS based rubrics. Our school is starting to pursue what a rubric tied to CCSS may look like. This will certainly help us on our exploration. I was wondering if you could title the Expository piece with "Expository" rather than Recipe as I do not write a recipe. What do you use as a rubric for informative writing? Thanks! Cathy, thanks for your feedback. This is our first year using these rubrics, as well as teaching genre-based writing, so I'd be interested to see how you do it in your school! As a committee, we decided that each grade level would be responsible for different sub-genres within each genre of writing, and kinder was responsible for the how-to book and the recipe, which is why there was no generic expository rubric. In subsequent years this may change, but for now, we wanted teachers not to feel overwhelmed with different types of writing and also give students the opportunity to try writing a variety of texts. But, thanks for the feedback, and the changed rubric will be sent to you in a few minutes!
