I'm in my 33rd year of teaching and I continue to love what I do! This year I am an Academic Achievement Specialist for my district, assisting teachers K-12 with implementation of our standards-based grade book and report card system. Up until this year, I've taught fourth grade but I've also taught fifth and sixth grades, first grade, middle school math, at-risk high schoolers, journalism and computers. I love creating teaching materials and have shared with other teachers for the past 12 years through my classroom website. Peek at my website, Mrs. Renz' Fourth Grade Class, to see my work. www.mrsrenz.net
I am a projects-based kind of teacher. I love math and literacy and my goal is to integrate technology and connect learning to real life experiences. Using technology helps me differentiate for my students and meet the standards at the same time. I was the first teacher to bring SMART boards to our school and I love how it helps students connect with absolutely anything I teach. I enjoy creating projects and activities that are relevant to students' lives and challenge them to think critically.
