I just recently retired from 34 years of teaching primarily 4th, 5th and middle school math and now am creating products for teachers full time and consulting. I am a Disney Teacher Honoree, a Microsoft Worldwide Innovative Teacher, Intel Innovative Teacher, JASON Project Teacher Argonaut to Panama, and Redmond Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year to name a few awards. I most recently served as an Academic Achievement Specialist for my district, assisting teachers with implementation of Common Core Math and also with technology implementation. I've mostly taught fourth grade but over the course of my career, I've also taught fifth and sixth grades, first grade, middle school math, at-risk high schoolers, journalism and computers. I love creating teaching materials and have shared with other teachers for the past 13 years through my classroom website. Peek at my website or my blog, Mrs. Renz' Fourth Grade Class, to see my work. www.mrsrenz.net www.mrsrenzclass.blogspot.com
I am a projects-based kind of teacher and connect standards to students' lives so they gain deeper understanding and enjoy learning. I LOVE teaching math and my goal is to integrate technology as much as possible. Using technology helps us differentiate for our students and meet the standards at the same time. In the classroom, I used my SMART board and find it engages naturally. I teach all students as if they are talented and gifted and challenge them to think critically.
