I have been a teacher for 8 years. I am a teacher in New Mexico currently but come from Arizona. I have always taught at a title one school in an ELL environment. I am extremely passionate about teaching and also about sharing!
I am a consistent yet FUN teacher. I believe that all students have the right to learn. No student, has the right to interrupt that. If a student is having fun while learning, that is icing on the cake for me!
Taught students Arizona state standards, life skills, and respect for diversity. I was the fifth grade team leader; I attend important administrative meetings, relay the information to the team, and am superb with multi-tasking effectively. From 2010 to present, writing trainer, trained a staff of about seventy to grade and interpret writing to mirror AIMS. Received an award for Overall Academic Achievement in October 2009. Awarded, “A Day Made Better†in 09-10. Applied for and earned laptops for the entire class starting in 2009 and incorporated technology into as many possible areas. Had the third highest writing scores in the Alhambra School district in 2009-2010, awarded Writing Instruction for this. Awarded, Highest Student Growth, October 2010. Given an award for effective, “Writing Leadership†in 2011. November 2011, Received the “Lifesaver†award from the district for creating helpful and effective smartboard lessons for all to share. Assisted administration for our staff retreat activities. Guided, modeled, and taught 3 student teachers in this time period, with whom, all student teachers passed. Received the award, Instructional Excellence in November of 2008. Received an award for Improvement on DIBELS in 2006-2007. Applied for and earned the Alhambra Mini Grant to pay for a field trip in 2006-2007.
Have a BA in Multilingual/Multicultural Elementary Education. I have a MA in Business Administration. I hope to open my own school one day.
