I love your adventure race... I have 2 questions: Are the kids challenged to do all crunches, crab crawls, basketball shots OR do they preform them team style, when 1 person gets tired the next takes over?
It also looks like races 1a- 1f are all the same just done so groups will not start at the same place and be jammed up waiting for others. Is this the case?

Hi there, thanks for your question, and I'm sorry for my delayed response, but I have been away. The students are required to complete the activities as a team - they decide how to break up the number (e.g. 50 sit-ups, a group of 5 may decide to do 10 each, or someone who is strong may do 25 and the rest are divided up etc). You are correct about the order of the activities - they are all the same race, just shuffled activities so that the groups do not bottle neck at the various stations. I hope your students enjoy adventure racing!

It is a unit plan (multiple lessons) designed for grades 9 and 10, but there are many activities/drills/games suitable for younger grades. The lessons work for a large group - I have done most of the lessons with classes of 30+.

I looked at the new format for the TPT website that was highlighted on the last newsletter and was initially excited that Physical Education might be easier to access as a subject area on the front page. However, when I started clicking around on the mock site and clicked on the Specialty tab, physical education was not one of the subjects that appeared. I opened a ticket and told them at TPT that Physical Education was an emerging subject area on TPT and asked them to please make it a subject area that was easier to access for a "first time user" or "buyer" on the TPT site. I have heard from other PE teacher buyers that it is not as easy as it should be to find our products.
I wanted to let other physical education teacher sellers on TPT to gently encourage the "powers that be" at TPT to give us a direct link or at least a quicker link to our products. Check out the latest newsletter and see what I mean and if you can, open up a ticket and let them know we would like some easier access for PE products. Maybe if enough of us tell them, we will get some help.

Hi there, thanks for your question. I use this assignment after students have learned poetic language as part of an independent novel study. I wouldn't call it a review as much as an application of the devices as it is the first time they write their own poem. The terms/devices highlighted in this assignment are: imagery, mood, character, conflict and theme. The assignment also gets students to think about punctuation, line breaks, and word choice when creating a poem. Thanks.

However, in my edition of the book, these passages can be found on pages 5, 26, 55, 71, 150, 206, 229, 305, and 360. Hopefully, these pages can give you a reference for your own edition. Most of my strength exercises involve upper and lower body (for example lunge with dumbbell biceps curl). Are your exercises similar, or do they isolate one body part at a time?

Thanks for your interest Janetweller. My circuit cards have a variety of cardio, plyometric, upper and lower body strength activities as well as ab workouts. Some of the exercises include: bench step-ups (lower body), bridge (abs), double leg power, tuck and zig-zag jumps (plyometrics - lower body), dumbbell chest press and flys, medicine ball sit-ups and twists, skipping, wall sits etc...
