Do you have a sample student essay for similarities between Fahrenheit 451 and today's world? Not necessarily on that topic but a good example to show students.

Hi Jennifer,

I'm not sure what product you're referring to. The Cornell Notes set that I sell has the majority of the "Questions/Vocab/Key Terms" filled in, but does not provide the answers. If you could show me the message, then I can hopefully help you further?

Daniel Garcia Ordaz  (TpT Seller) re: Daily Poem/Poet: Dylan Thomas
I hope you understand, I ask this not to accuse you, but rather to learn: how can you post a poem by another author? Is that allowed, since it's for educational purposes? I am totally new here--just signed on tonight--and sincerely don't know what the rules are for such things. I added a Dylan Thomas quiz and deleted the poem from my original document since I don't know what the parameters are. Gracias!

There are laws in place that protect teacher's use of materials in the pursuit of education-- you can review them on page 6 of the following document (http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ21.pdf) I don't know much more than that though-- sorry I couldn't be more helpful. :/

Hi,
Do you happen to know what the laws are for using images (photos, clip art, etc) within the documents that I create to use in the classroom as well as sell. Since you have several images within many of your documents, I was wondering if you knew? Thanks for any information you may have, as this is all new to me.

Hi!
To be honest, in education, most teachers use a lot of images online without much consideration.. WHERE IS THE ANSWER KEY? SAMPLE COPY?

Hi Mochacutie33,
As it stands, the product description reads as follows:
"This handout pulls important excerpts from Edwards' famous sermon. Students are directed to analyze both the ideas behind the text, and also Edwards' use of stylistic devices. The handout provides space for annotation of both elements."

Neither the product description, nor the provided thumbnail image of the file, indicate that an answer key or sample copy is provided. As advertised, the assignment is sold as a stand-alone handout.

I will certainly take the suggestion into consideration, however, when revising my assignments. If I do develop an answer key or sample copy, you and the other buyers will be notified.

Buyer re: Introduction to Mythology
Dear Ms. Howell, I loved your illustrations and would like more, but need to check some of your information about the Trojan war. I thought Helen was married to Menelaus, King of Sparta. Aphrodite introduced Paris to the couple because Aphrodite's bribe was that Paris would win the most beautiful woman. He sailed with Helen to Troy. Helen's was the "face that launched a thousand ships." I've added additional slides because the presentation is quite limited.

Buyer re: Night: Elie Characterization Chart
Do you think that this lesson would be appropriate for a 10th grade special education class?
Thank you.

Ms. Howell  (TpT Seller)
Hi--
I guess that would depend on what level of special education you teach. The assignment requires students to comment upon literature on a literal and more interpretive level. For a RSP class, I would imagine this assignment would work fine- especially if you model the first one with them. I think it would really depend on the skill level of your students.

At what point do you use it? (before reading the book, during, after)?

Thanks

Ms. Howell  (TpT Seller)
I've tried it at every point, but I've had the most success when I use it after the book is done. Since the students are already familiar with the story and its characters at that point, figures like Stalin and Lenin begin to sound very familiar to them and it is much easier for them to make the allegorical connection. Hope that helps... good luck!!

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching high school for the past 8 years. Throughout that time, I have taught English in the 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. I have also taught multiple levels of ELD (ESL). In addition to actual "in class experience", I have been a curriculum development specialist for online education through California State University Fullerton (CSUF). I am currently awaiting my scores for National Board Certification (fingers crossed! I find out in November.)
