Hi Yvette,

I'm sure your son will enjoy his dual language class. I teach grade 1 French immersion in Canada which is very similar. There is no English translation because the point of dual language is to be immersed in the language and learn that way rather than through translations. The pictures in the PowerPoint are there to help build understanding without the translations. In any case, I'm happy to give you the translation. Slides 4-13 all use the same phrase:
"in the classroom there is a "
Slide 4: teacher (female word for teacher)
Slide 5: teacher (male)
Slide 6: blackboard
Slide 7: desk
Slide 8: door
Slide 9: pencils
Slide 10: notebook
Slide 11: desk
Slide 12: computer
Slide 13: books
Slide 14: hello class, how are you
Slide 15: very well thank you and you miss
Slide 16: listen please

Hi! I was just looking at your samples and I saw an error. Your conjugation of faire mixes 2 tenses: the 3 singular persons are in the present, and the 3 plural in the imparfait.
ça arrive! :)

Hi there,

I'm looking for a grade 1-2 reader theaters script that has lines that often repeat themselves. (I want children to be able to memorize their parts instead of reading from the script during the final performance.) Do any of your scripts have parts that repeat themselves?

Hi Lindsay,

No I'm sorry. My scripts don't have that many lines that repeat. They are mostly written to be read and would probably be hard to memorize, especially the meatier parts. The only thing I might have are scripts for emergent readers that are simpler and have more repeating lines, but are at a quite low reading level (DRA 3-6). If you download the preview you can see a sample page and see if it's what you're looking for.

Virginia Gilbert  (TpT Seller) re: Phonics: Short i Illustrated Word Wall
Hello,
When I purchase the package, will it be received on-line through a download? If so, is it possible to add to the categories (i.e add words/pictures to short i family)? Great product! Especially for an classroom with ELL students!

Hi Virginia

The short I word wall is free so should download directly from the product page. If you purchase other word walls you have to go through your cart and it will take you to an download page.
Sorry, once you have the download you can't really add to it since it is a PDF document. This is to keep the formatting intact, especially for the pictures. If you do purchase though and then I add some words, which I am planning to so, then when I upload the new version you would be able to download it from the download page. Hope that answers your question.

Do you have a space in room dedicated to this wall?

Hi, no I cut up each word (verb, adjective, subject, mots utiles, conjugations) and make cards. I then use the cards in a centre where the students pick a subject card, a verb card and an adjective cards and then use the verb ending cards and the "mots utiles" cards to physically make a sentence. This is shown in the preview page.
I use it as a hands-on activity, bit I think you could put the different pages together up on a wall and have the student write sentence by looking at the wall if you wanted to. Hope that answers your question.

Hi Ms Joanne,
I was wondering if it would be possible to use some of these images in my lesson plans for my Ethics and Religious Culture class. They are lessons that I will also be selling on TPT.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for 20 years in a variety of school systems. 20 years ago I spent 4 years teaching ESL overseas and upon my return home to Canada I then spent 4 years teaching French Immersion in K, 1, 4, 5. This was followed by teaching Grade 1 for 5 years at an international school Japan with a large and varied ESL population mixed in with native speakers of English. I am now back in Canada teaching Grade 1 French Immersion again.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hands-on and differentiated to meet individual student needs. I like to have the kids busy and engaged. My goal is to make all the children feel valued and challenged without undue stress or frustration on their part. I am mostly concerned with fostering a "love of learning" and an "inquiring mind" while teaching valuable, lasting skills.
